Default Receiver for 230s v1

I read online that the ESC for V2 can’t be used with the V1 receiver. Is there any different between the receivers for V1 and V2? My receiver on V1 is AR636A and it seems like it is also used on V2. Any thought? Thanks!

There is of course a difference in the firmware and also the AR636 on the V2 has a metal plate on bottom if I remember correctly without looking.

Ah... even if they have the same model number? That’s not nice....
So I guess I will have to replace both at the same time if one of the is broken...

That's the first I've heard that you can't mix and match AR636/ESC V1/V2's. Other than the V2 ESC is running BLHELI firmware, I don't see much difference. The ESC provides power to the RX and the RX provides a signal to the ESC. In my case, I'm running a V2 AR636 and a Hobbywing 25A/Spedix 20A pair of ESC's. All good!

You can swap. But the V2 ESC runs a Governor, and the V1 ESC does not. So for V2 ESC You might prefer a flat throttle curve, for V1 ESC use a V-Curve.

You can run the v2 esc on the v1 rx, at a minimum you will need to adjust the tail d gain, I would recommend using the newer v2 tailrotor as well. Please see this post for more information. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...hlight=blh1425

The v2 esc does not run a governor however it does perform better with flat line throttle curves in Stunt 1 and Stunt 2 in comparison to the v1 esc.

Basically follow the post above for the v2 esc and use the tx setup from the v2 manual here; https://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/BLH1400-Manual-EN.pdf
