It's going to be at least $900 with blades, combo deals will be the best bang for buck. They don't have to compete with the protos, they have a better product. I would be willing to pay double for a logo over a protos because that's what I like and I trust mikado to deliver. I'm sure a lot of other people do to.

Wonder if it will really be lighter than the 700XX?

No doubt. It's not about CF vs fantastic plastic. It's about reduction in Aluminium. I can't imagine it being the same weight or heavier that would be marketing suicide unless proven a better flyer under those conditions. Even then I think that scenario will only be valid for pro's. Most of us will benefit from lighter. Possibly the thinner frames are disappearing to make the difference more apparent.

They already released a "weight" a while back, I can't remember what exactly it was. I do know that said it would be difficult to get the Heli under 5kg close to impossible. This was on there v stabi forums, I'm not sure if that was before or after the redesign either

Pardon my ignorance about this, but what is it about the reduction in aluminum?

I would guess that they are going to use a shorter tail boom as well to keep the cg in check. No more 750's. Probably the only thing that will remain unchanged is the main gear lol

Last pictures show tail parts in plastic, I suppose so that the CG will be equilibrate with same size tail boom.

Really love my 700 XXTrem, and really waiting the new one.

Actually from the pictures they released earlier this year the main gear was actually smaller in diameter than the original.

Good to know, I'm glad I sold me 700xx then. A few months ago I figured I would just pick up a new head and a plastic frame and have the new model. It's looking like this is a complete new helo then

I have the old one with 760mm mains and I am keeping it that way. I plan for the new one to have 690-710mm mains.

Hmmm. Less head mass and less alum frame supports. Okay. As long as it flies like no other 700 machine. I'd prefer a reason to have it beyond simply saying it's better because it's Mikado. If it's both, then I am on-board. Seems I already have given them a lot of my discretionary funds.

Still having problems with your 600 SX?

No issues with the 600SX. On the contrary - it appears like it will be excellent. I still have reservations about the OWB, but that's not preventing me from flying. My first Mikado kit was a learning curve to build, but the end result will no doubt be worth it. I was just ready to start the Vbar setup when I made my decision to replace my Spek DX8 and go VBC. So, now I have the new radio, but not yet started the process of loading apps and VBC setup. I am in no hurry since it's a winter project. Plenty else to do these days with holiday and work stuff.

I had Ron walk me through the Vcontrol set up. Some of it was hard for me to understand. I admit I'm not the smartest when it comes to the electronics side of the hobby

I didn't know what to think of the drive system at first. But, I can appreciate that it's quite precise once shimmed in. I spent some time routing wires too, but there's lots of options for that. I don't really have any trouble to report. Just starting to play with my new radio. Loaded the Vbar Control Manager today, but had other errands to run.

I felt that way until I purchased the 700xx. They lost me on that one, definitely not from the same mind that created the logo 500/600 series. Performance and flight time were, well, terrible. Great tail, great cyclic, but the rotating mass and inefficient drivetrain killed it. A case of confused design goals I'd say.
