Wow

Leapprops

all cells come down cool, can fly packs one after another.

seems to hang through turns better too

less throttle ,less current ,less weight

even the 3s 45c 2200 fly better ,over 7 minutes of crazy eights and very slightly warm.

funner it is

Anything below 3.3 volts per cell and you damage the battery. I usually don't go below 3.75 volts. Some guys go lower 3.5 volts ? Thing is you have to have time to land. Get too low and it will just fall out of the sky.

Where did you get the props ? Can you post a link for me please.

Just flew tattu 1300 3s 45c and some lo power 1500 3s 35c with the leap props....a little warm but plenty of flight and get up and go.

so I can now fly from 1300 -3600 ,3-4s ,35-60 c ,everything works ,the hottest temps are still cooler than any cells using the neros v2.props

just flew dusk on the hill with the leds ,great orientation.Gonna try some military grade glow paint.

Could really use a model in the simulator to get the timing on flips and rolls down ,tryed to tweak a helli with no luck.

Supposedly theres an even better prop ,due restock at the end of the month .

Do those props fit ? Do I have to drill them out ? Or just bolt on the middle hole ?

You can use the Stingray quad in Realflight 7 or 7.5

stingray is collective pitch, didnt you own one ? .....no dead zone motor reversal. flys just like a heli only different.LOL still havnt flown mine.

as you know invertix uses momentum/timing to rotate ,more like a typical quad.thats what i need to work on ....without getting too close to the ground.$10 props gonna add up fast.

drilled the holes with a bit that fit the neo props with a hand drill, hackish I know ,not like it needs to be ligo.LOL

you could always step drill or ream em.leap props seem cheap and overpriced.....until ya see em fly.theyre really flexy compared to the neo.i believe the neos are over pitched like the zeals.

Yes I had a Stingray. Kind of miss it. I really like the way it flies. It flips within itself. Nothing like it.

I have a ton of the v1 and v2 props. And some carbon Maytech 8" X 6.0" props. May have to try some Leap 450 props.

for me ,the best way has been to try every prop and battery I can get to fit,

I like to take what I read from others and see if it really applies,,,,,theres always caveats.

The last link I sent is to a guy custom building 3d quads with off the shelf parts.

Looks like hes zerod in on the best of everything......at a reasonable price.

Flew like 12 packs in a row, none hot some warm.Motors never hot ,slightly warm.

Came to the conclusion, all my previous crashes were due to the neo v2 props .They stall in flight ,they also over draw (stall) current .

The leap props FLY through maneuvers without hesitation.Makes flight so much easier.

started upping all my end points, rates and expo ,almost maxed out.

Had one really bad dirt nap ,and 3 bush tags. And get this .....no broken props ,would of been a easy dozen neos ,not to mentio all the crashes Ididnt have due to over pitched props.

Now to take one of these kits and build a proper 3d tricopter .......thadbeeven funner

Bought 4 sets of zeal ,,,,,,,forgetabout em.

They draw way to much current.Overheat everything.

Just flew in high wind (rotor) off my hill.Ended up switching back to neo to cut through the turbulence ,I believe they outperform the leap props in high wind. could be the flex in the leap ??? dont know ,found out they do break .LOL

copy paste from codepox

Propellers with their current consumption and rpm at 11.1V using a Sunnysky 2212 1400kV motor.
Name: IMG_0631 (1).jpg
Views: 189
Size: 1.19 MB
Description:

Results of flying test:
- LEAP 450 8" 3D:
This is the propeller I have been recommending so far, nice "linear" power curve, relatively efficient so long flight time, one of the cheapest $2.50, flexible plastic so does not break everytime it touch something. Comes in many colors.
http://www.helidirect.com/leap-lq450...op-yellow.html

- Graupner 8x4.5 3D:
The most expensive, $8 per prop, feels dull, soft around center. Very rigid, snap easily on contact, black only.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEUVP&P=7

- Heli-Max Voltage 500 8.9" 3D:
Comes in white and black, the most efficient so far, longest flight times but too floaty.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFMPW&P=7

- Aerialfreaks 8x4.5 3D:
This is a very interesting one, nice balance between efficiency and aggressivity, better stops than the LEAP 450. Comes in white and black but tends to vibrate at high RPM.
http://www.helidirect.com/aerialfrea...hyper-400.html

- EncoreRC NEO V2 8x4.5 3D:
Comes in many colors, inefficient, fly time down to 3 minutes, feels sluggish.
http://www.encorerc.com/neo-8-3d-pro...-set-v2-green/

- Gemfan 8x4.5 3D:
Black color only, inefficient, fly time down to 3 minutes, feels underpowered.
http://www.helidirect.com/gemfan-8x-...ropellers.html

- HQ 8x4.5 Reversible 3D:
Hub already drilled at 5mm no adapter needed, black color only, inefficient, fly time down to 3 minutes, probably the best of the "3 minutes flight time prop".
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=2142

- Zeal 8x4.5 3D:
Did not fly it, draw too much current, more than 20A at 11.1V is too much.
http://www.helidirect.com/aerialfrea...hyper-400.html

- Maytech 8x6" 3D:
I don't own this one but 8x6" sounds like too much pitch.
http://www.helidirect.com/maytech-8x...-leap-450.html

Conclusion:
So far, my preferred propeller is the LEAP 8x4.5" 3D.

sorry bout the image size....just hit control minus

I wonder if that kiss 30 amp esc might handle the high pitch props better ??

they would end up costing the same as a brand new complete carbon fiber invertix.

Codepox and others seem to rave about these esc.I'm waiting for them to become a lil less costly.

WOW !!!!! Great information. Really helpful.

I ordered some of the Leap 450 Props. The only colour they had was orange. I will look for some other colours as well. They look smaller. Do you get good lift with them ?

Kind of sad I have a ton of the Neo props. I guess they are garbage. If I get way longer flight times out of the Leap 450 I will not use the Neo props.

Yea ,codepox knows his stuff.

I dont think the neos are garbage ,like I found out today they fly better than the leap in turbulence. If there were no leap props to compare ,the neos would be great.Much better than trying to flatten 2d props.

The leap have much less pitch ,they have more lift , consume less power, yet dont seem floaty.Youll get added minutes of flight time ,you can hear the difference, and your lipos will thank you too.LOL

I'm guessing every year the props will get that much better ,just like the motors ,batteries ,fdlight controllers, sims,,and everything else.....this is the start of the golden age of robotics.

I'm glade I started back into the hobby ,after a decade off.I knew the day would come when batteries matured enough to change everything ,and so they have.I'm absolutely blown away by whats out there.
