Default Is the Leap classified as a drone?

In my opinion the leap 450 3D is not a drone.
But I maybe wrong.
Please chime in

Not a "drone"
drone requires autonomous flight capability ....
only if "self level mode" qualifies as drone flying to nitpick.

Dictionary.com says:
Quote:
drone
  1. an unmanned aircraft or ship that can navigate autonomously, without human control or beyond line of sight: the GPS of a U.S. spy drone.
  2. (loosely) any unmanned aircraft or ship that is guided remotely: a radio-controlled drone.
If you take the 'loose' description then any RC heli or plane is a drone.

On the other hand if you take the alternate more tightly defined description then some form of autonomous navigation capability is required. So in that case a Leap would not be a 'drone' as standard but if you fitted it with a GPS flight controller it would be (as would any other RC helicopter or plane come to that).

based on the new law from FAA, and their definition of a drone it needs to be registered.
