Default For those who can't get enough

I followed you to this 700x forum. I asked the question about 700x batteries. Sorry but I didn't understand your answer. I'm a little older to recently pick up on this great hobby but I do have a lot to learn & I have had a lot of fun. I am an intermediate flyer (no 3D) and got a great deal on a 700x. I do have other helis- smaller of course. If I may ask why don't people like the 700x?

Most everyone who actually owned a 700x liked the machine. It was Horizon Hobby's version one of its flagship. Guys like Brian James were working on it while employed at HH. It had some troubles with some people stripping tail gears. Careful shimming reportably took care of the problem. If allowed, the version two would have been a killer.
Horizon Hobby was sold to new owners shortly after the release of the pro series which included the 500, 550 and 700.
Many of us purchased at full retail only to be lied to about continued production and support. The new management apparently decided the pro series was not something they were interested in persueing and thus the line was discontinued.
From release to abandonment was close to 1.5 year. This left a bad taste for Horizon Hobby's Blade products with many of us. Rapidly the 700 was discounted to fire sale prices to liquidate stock. I paid full price for mine and still fly and enjoy it, just not as often as other machines in the fleet.

Default The good! The bad! The Ugly!

Paid full retail for the first one, had 2 head builds before I was even conftable, the tail gears was a shim $$$ investment & took time did it, after 250+ flights no crashes just a lube and usual Heli detail yeah I do that.-

I still take it with me but not all the time, ... And I do beat the snort of it. The bad was The Heli got discontinued fast way to fast had the gear & recall so... accountants won not the hard core blade supporters like you. It's complicated do read on !

I love mine. I said that before ,, ! Parts parts... sock pile growing !

I have a nitro, though it was never intended for release, it was a special project for the guys who were working on it at Horizon. I don't have a 3 blade head, but I wish I did.

Still my favorite heli. I fly it every week.

550, 600 and 700X were the Pro Series. The 500 3D and 500X were non-Pro Series BNF models and not actual kits you built yourself.

I still love my 700x and fly them as often as possible. I've flown two of them for years now and have had no issues, and done very little maintenance.

I don't regret anything about purchasing them and I would do it again and again. I'll fly mine to the very end!

That is awesome Brian, are you allowed to post any pics of it? Love to see it.

That was the one thing I was waiting for Blade to do.

Cheers

It’s a heck of a machine, just needs a V2 with better gears(get rid of the white plastic gears, go to machined black material like most other manufacturers) and it would be awesome. It’s so dang light!
