Default Migrating Battery History from Android 4.x device to new device

Follow the steps below if you're replacing your old Android 4.x with a new device that's capable of running the latest CCS app with DropBox support (Android 5.0+ or Apple iOS):

1. Create a Battery History backup on the old Android 4.x device
- From the main screen, open Battery History screen (Tools -> Battery History)
- Perform the history backup (Tools -> Backup History)
- Resulting backup file will reside in the standard Android Download folder (location varies by device type)
- File name will be date-stamped with format of Download/CCS_History_2017_07_10.zip

2. Login/create DropBox account on the new Android or iOS device
- Install the new Revolectrix CCS app (v4.09+) on your new device
- From main screen, select History from the menu
- From Battery History menu, select Sync DropBox
- Click on 'Both' to perform a two-way sync with DropBox to confirm everything is working properly (no files will actually download since nothing exists yet)
- At the login screen, create/login to your DropBox account
- This will now connect the Revolectrix CCS app to your DropBox account and create a dedicated storage folder within your DropBox directory "/Apps/Revolectrix CCS"

3. Upload the backup .zip file to DropBox app folder "/Apps/Revolectrix CCS"
- There are several ways to get the .zip file uploaded from the old device to the DropBox app folder - direct USB connection to PC, or a variety of file management/upload apps.
- Simplest method is to simply install the free DropBox for Android client which is what is covered in these instructions
- Install DropBox app for Android, open the app, login with your DropBox account credentials
- In the left-hand pane, select Files
- From the file list, select "Apps", then "Revolectrix CCS" - this is the location where all CCS app data will be stored, including history
- Click the '+' button in the lower-right to add new files, then select "Upload files" option
- Locate and select your Download directory from the storage locations listed (exact location varies by device - sometimes its Internal Storage, others are on SDCard)
- Select the CCS_History_yyyy_mm_dd.zip backup file to upload it into the "Apps/Revolectrix CCS" directory

4. Unzip the .zip history file in DropBox
- This is probably easiest done on a PC or Mac - just select the .zip file and choose to unzip it into its current location
- This will merge the history files in the .zip into the "/Apps/Revolectrix CCS/history" directory where all battery history files are stored

5. Repeat step #2 and perform another 'Sync DropBox' to download all of the history data from DropBox to your new Android or iOS device

Default Windows 10 CCS app status update

Just a quick update on Windows 10 CCS app progress ....

We are on hold until Windows 10 Universal Web App (UWA) SDK supports scanning for Bluetooth Low Energy devices.
UWA currently only supports pairing of BLE devices which is something that the Bump Controller hardware does not support.

This feature is supposedly releasing "soon" but I wasn't able to locate any dates.

Will post updates here as we know more.

Given the other Google Play issues, it wouldn't surprise me to find another gotcha, but confirming BLE support (the only specified hardware requirement for compatibility) is the first debugging step.
RevoKelly you are right this Android 6.0 tablet I purchased does not support Bluetooth Low Energy. I downloaded the BLE Checker app and it says not supported.
So for anyone looking to upgrade your tablet you can skip the INSIGNIA 8" tablet model# NS-P08A7100 It does not support Bluetooth Low Energy which is needed.

Thanks again for your help.

Kelly,
Two things that I am seeing with the new release:
1- Bluetooth Transmitter is not being turned on by the Application like it did before, must now be turned on manually.
2.Charging 1 6s battery on one PL8 and a 2nd 6s battery on a second PL8 at the same time. The Tablet displays shows PL8 #3 and PL8 #4 screens side-by-side, but will only show the data from one or the other, Previously, an extra tap on the screen would show the data from both screens at the same time (side-by-side). If you need, I can shot the screen when I get back on Friday.

1 - This is a side-effect of upgrading the Android SDK version - we are working on making it automatic. Just to clarify - this is only a problem when you manually turn BT off, right ? If BT is left on, then the CCS app always connects as expected ?

2 - We found that the double-tap behavior wasn't always discoverable, so we added explicit buttons for it . The "tab" and "grid" buttons in the upper-left serves the same purpose for switching between showing all chargers (grid) vs the selected charger (tab).

Can anyone that's running the iOS version confirm there are no issues with the latest CCS v4.09 and latest iOS update 10.3.3 ?

Thanks in advance!

I installed and ran through 5 different charge cycles today. No issues with my BC+PL8v2 and iPhone.

Noticed new feature to allow changing charge constant current set point while charging... only on the BC and not in the iPhone app.

Got two more charge cycles in today (during lunch). App seems to be fine with iOS 10.3.3 and formula 409 (CCS 4.09)

What does the 4 colored bars (red, orange, yellow, green) signify in the secondary information window cell voltage?

Bypass percentage?

Could not find anything in the manual about it.

Just curious.

Thanks.

Yes, cell bypass percentage for balancing.

I just switched from an iPhone to a Galaxy S9+. I went ahead and purchased the Android version but the NFC tag read is not working. I have only used the iPhone version which obviously didnít support NFC. Was this feature removed from the Android version?

Did you enable NFC on the Galaxy 9? It's not on by default.

After reading all the recent posts I was worried about having just updated my 2 Bump controllers. But my Galaxy S8, Bumps and my 2 dual PL8 chargers and 2 single PL8 chargers didn't skip a beat when I charged and discharged some batteries with them.

It's been a WHILE since I've upgrade their firmware. Looks like some nice improvements have been made.

About ready to take the plunge with my new PL bump dual chargers with this App.

How is the Apple App performing now at 37.99 Can$ I would sure like to know before investing some more as the switch from iCharger has been an expensive one.
