Thanks! Totally going to do this later instead of simming or Nano CP S practice as I know I should.

Who needs to fly when you have helis to fiddle with!?

I have the EC3 connectors and they can be difficult to pull apart. I made an adapter lead as in Europe HH won't give warranty on the ESC if you've modified it.

No flying for me at the moment as I have caught quite the worst cold and cough I think I've every had and I am now in the second week with it without improvement. I hate winters.

Over the last couple days I changed the connectors on my stock 230 S V2 ESC from JST to XT-60. Also had to do that in my two Venom 3S 800 mAh batteries. Thanks BrokeDad and Termite for the guidance.

Also had my 6 year old son solder for his first time. Not on my batteries of course, just some spare wire. Nerd in the making!

I maidened my V2 this weekend, it was so cold I didn't want to go outside so I lifted off between the pool table and the couch. Super stable even compared to my V1's which I thought were great. Tight quarters and it just went straight up with very little stick input.

I just flew my 230 S V2 after a long break from it. Forgot how much I love it!! Also enabled governor on the stock ESC, which runs BLHeli. Pretty awesome!!

I can post a detailed guide later if anyone is interested. Or if anyone isn’t interested, I’ll probably still do it.

Well I am hoping to get back in the air soon. About four weeks ago I caught what I thought was a normal cold but it turned into pneumonia with a really bad and persistent cough. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Anyway as it was a real nice day yesterday I decided to charge the batteries and do some test hovers in the garden on my 2 birds. One is perfect and steady but the other has a massive drift in stability mode. I ended up re-flashing the Rx with the program and doing several trim flights but nothing worked. In other modes it flies perfectly. I'm stumped.

Try doing the gyro calibration then short 30 second trim flights.

Default shakes on spool down 230s v2

anybody experience shakes/vibration on spool down?

i went over everything, servo adjustment, swashplate leveling, mainshaft inspection, rotor head inspection, blade balancing

on spool up it shakes a little bit up until full speed, then it settles. spooling down it catches a bad jitter and shakes/vibrates until the blades stop

same here... flew this bird today after a very long break (has been stored in its box for months ==> wintertime). Can't wait to fly this one again.

wouldn't the xt30 be more fitting for the 230 and the larger xt60? ive been thinking of replacing the jst but im thinking xt30 since xt60 are used on larger models

Could be unequal main grip tightness. What happens if you really loosen them?

I chose the XT 60 for my 230 S V2 because my other heli used them and I already had balance boards for it. But the XT30 would work just fine, especially if you are using that connector elsewhere.
