Took Brick's advice and sprayed the landing gear white. I dig it. Thanks Brick!

Thanks! I can not promise, but i think this was the last one i made with Blade 230S internal mecanics. That's why i wanted it to be a blast.
Next will be a Blade 550X/600X project.

After a crash caused a motor failure I've been twiddling my thumbs waiting on the replacement. Well today it came! Took about 20 minutes to replace the motor, they made it pretty easy with this little fella. Anyways here's a snippet of it! Hopefully it sounds right now!

I'm sorry I can't remember the settings I adjusted, but you can make the collective a little less twitchy. I only bring this up because it looks like you're smooth everywhere except collective/pitch control. I want to say I lowered my pitch, then raised the servo limit? Or vice versa? Which ever one it was, I ended up with the same amount of over all pitch, but it took more stick movement to get it there. It made my pitch control soooooo much smoother.

I just played with the pitch curve a little and it helped. Also a warn or sticky swash can make it jumpy.

I got my new swash today after breaking the anti rotation pin. Fitted it in about 5 mins and then went out and put 3 batteries through it. It was a little turbulent today but still some good flying.

Ya, I guess you could spread out the middle numbers and get a similar effect.

Another thing that helped me with my DX6I, was to add a strip of nylon to the detente. Inside the transmitter, there's a metal strap that you can set to ratchet, for Plane mode, or slide, for Heli mode. I added a piece of nylon to that, to make the collective stick slide smoother. A ''sticky stick'' is bad for a smooth collective change.

I cut up one of those furniture slide things. Those things you put under heavy furniture, so they will slide on carpet.

There is a thread somewhere about the “Teflon mod” that describes this in greater detail. I use mouse feet tape on mine.

You're right, it was Teflon, not nylon

Question

I just had a mid flight tail motor failure. Black wire came off the ESC for tail motor.
Tools out, let's figure out what happen...

Edit: I can't figure out why it happen, but luckily nothing shorted and one quick solder job later and I'm in the air again. It's almost midnight here and almost full moon outside. Just returned from a test flight and all seems nominal. Still loving my night kit.
