I missed a trick though, I should have filed it opposite to the other flat spot on the motor. It's a minor thing, but would have balanced the motor shaft a little better.
The moment of inertia that close to the center of rotation is essentially zero.

Unless you grind off half the shaft, you will not have a balance issue

Thanks for the replies. Already filed enough for the grub screw to hold. Should work fine.

Default Jesus bolt tightness

How tight should the Jesus bolt be in the head block? Should I just snug it up, or should I tighten it enough to clamp the head block down on the main shaft so there is no play in the head block on the main shaft?

Snug it up but don't over do it. The head design will clamp down on the main shaft once you get a little torque on it.

The head block bolt has been the only bolt I have had to tighten . Very infrequent, but I had 2 a couple times

This happened to once as well. I decided to just use loctite on the nut instead of relying on the nyloc.

3420?

3000 hard 3D, 3200 omg 3D. It's super light with a high tail ratio. No need for HFS*** headspeed

That was what the rpm read when setting the end points for the gov.

Try it.- but I suggest no blades like I did.

It looks like at 3000 there is still a bit of headroom!

Set mine @ 2600/2800/3000.
That should be good I suspect.

I think you will enjoy it at 2400 as well

LOL, with the default pinion and my Scorpion motor, at full throttle (no blades) I get just over 4000 RPM.

I'll probably need to look at seeing if I can get a smaller motor shaft so I can go down a size or two on the pinion...

+1 for 2400. That is my lowest head speed and I spend a lot of time there. Tail doesn't even blow out. Flys a little slow but takes everything I throw at it.

What motor kV do you have?

I run a 22T and run 2400 - 3200 Brain2 Gov'd. Has been a perfect wide headspeed setup. Xnova 2820-890kV
