Finished the P380 Evo tonight. Just need to level the swash and set the collective and cyclic. HW60 v4 and Brain governor is setup and working nicely on the bench as is rescue.

Only issue is the weather, the wind is blowing with a big cold front, hopefully it clears over the weekend.

OTS--throttle is zero. At least it shows zero in the transmitter setup menu (5). Likely I have something I missed, so I'll go back and look during next set of adjustments. I know where to look now. Dan

Try a little lower.

I decided to go with the standard cano on my Evo boom. I actually really like the way it looks. Makes for extra fast battery changes!

OTS--set my throttle cut lock switch to -108 in transmitter. It all works as advertised now. Thanks. Dan

I finished the wiring after receiving a shorter satellite cable. The only cable that is to long is the tail servo cable but there is enough space to hide it out of view.

I'm really happy with the result! It's just beautiful.

One noob question though:
I get a bit of tail wag, left/right, when hovering. What Brain parameter would you change first to fine tune this and to get it absolutely steady? There are so many gain parameters and I'm a bit lost which is the one to start with.

Turned the governor gain down to 30, and set my flight modes. For some reason I never set them? Extreme 3d is amazing! Just love this thing 4 packs today, I had to share airtime with the P500

Finally managed to get a maiden couple of flights in today. Still playing with the gains but wow it flys beautifully.

I have an unusual setup trying for a lighter weight heli, even though it is an Evo. It came in at 1.36kg rtf with 2650mah 4s packs (equivalent to running 1800mah 6s).

The heli is running:

HK2520-1360kv 19t pulley
HW60A with Jeti MUI 75A telemetry sensor
4s 2650mah 40C packs
MKS 92a+ and MKS 95i
Mini Brain V2
Jeti RSat2 Rx
Rotortech 386mm mains
Stock tails
Speed up tail gear
Brain governor 2000/2500/2800
+/- 13 degrees pitch

At 2000 rpm it is silent and still very capable of 3d flight. The tail holds fine but steps out a little. I am still tweaking the gains and pre comp to get it perfect, although it is already very good. P=90, I=30 and 15 pitch pre-comp has it pretty good, I need to check the head speed to see how much it is dropping on a pitch pump as I can probably increase the governor pitch pre- comp and get it even better. This is where I would like to have separate overall governor gains on the Brain as I could be running a much higher governor gain at 2000rpm compared to 2800rpm like I am able to do with tail and head gains.

I love low head speed 3d and the P380 feels very nice setup like this. It can fly in a small area and doesn't drop in moves like other small helis as the disc loading is fairly good.

At 2500 it comes alive and is very nicely balanced, 2800 it really gets up and moves. I did a few full pitch inverted punch outs and there was no hint of bogging even with this relatively small motor running 4s.

I will see how it goes on runtime but I would expect 10+ minutes of low headspeed lite 3d or 5 or 6 minutes of mixed headspeed.

Just tried my smaller 2200mah 4s packs (equivalent to 1450mah 6s packs) and I can easily get balance with them and that brings the weight down to 1.28kg. This will probably be even nicer for the 2000rpm head speed and should still get a decent time from it.

Where did you get the rotortech 386mm blades from? I'd really like to try a set out!

I crashed mine--nose down inverted slightly port side down. No response at all from the rescue, which had worked earlier.

Both frame sides, spindle, main shaft, boom, ball links, esc cage, main belt, canopy, main blades. Ya'll say it crashes well, but I can crash weller! Battery bent, but working. Will keep it in solitary confinement for a while. Order already placed. Don't we have fun!

Damn, sounds cheaper to rekit than to replace all the parts mentioned.

Brought them from a shop in Europe. World of Helis in Germany have them as well as a few other smaller online shops.

I added it up and all those parts are around $178. Not bad for what sounds like a MegaPlow under full power. Basically a set of VTX blades if it were a 700 class heli. :-P

Off course you don't need one. But get started on mine :roof:

I don't have a 380, so it's a better usage of random peoples money

4 more packs today, bring the total up to 6 flights now. Flying really nicely and the 4s setup works well. Flew with the smaller packs today and it is a little more floaty. Did my first auto with it and it had plenty of headspeed at the bottom for a small Heli. Not sure if the miniP will get much air time now as when I need a small field setup the 380 will be my go to setup.

Patiently waiting for the package to arrive minus the lipo packs due to shipping restrictions. Will have to source the packs from somewhere else.
Its hot outside and better to enjoy a nice Greek weiss beer.

Well 512 fence posted it in. Was doing tail first tail slide while rolling aileron. I needed one more roll.

It was not in the books.

Canopy trashed. Now will be fixed for nigh rig.
Boom had blade strike and tail first into the ground.
Boom is perfect.

Frame good. Just back mounting bold holes. But thats normal. I already had washers on them.

Feather is tweaked a little. Have not checked tail or main shaft yet.

Esc mount was ripped by battery.

Skids perfect.

All blades trashed.

All in all very good!

Im impressed by the boom.
I did not get to TH in time. All belts look good.

I do have to say 1 min before this i was doing snake 8s and lost it. Hit rescue 2ft off the deck and saved it. This time no rescue. Why did it not know i was going to crash. Just kidding!

Ordeing parts tonight! Model is worth repair. It just flys that good!
