Default What did you do with your Logo Xxtreme today

I couldn't find one of these and I just had to tell so here goes!

I have been toying with inverted ever since I first tried and destroyed my Logo 550 over 3 years ago. Or should I say shying away from. Unfortunately, I don't have opportunity to fly regularly and I've been puttering around with different 700's.

Well after a few weeks of getting used to my Xxtreme on forward and backward flight I proceeded today to clock in a number of firsts IRL and on the Xxtreme at that: inverted forward and backward circuits, continous flips, full pitch hurricane, 3 rounds, I was surprised how fast and well it tracked, tictocs, sloppy, inverted nose in hover half foot off the deck, and drum roll, finished with two half piroflips, upright, inverted, upright. All firsts and on this big baby

Now that's a day to remember! Will never forget how big and smooth the Xxtreme was

Special thanks to ArchmageAU for setting the bar so high and all those who've been providing tips on learning to fly. Simming pays, big time! Especially for those who can't get to the field that often

Not bad. On Sunday I just re-maddened mine with a new color scheme canopy and tail boom cover. I took it easy with some figure 8's, loops and a few bad rainbows.

Congrats and i will say this much...i am waiting on my esc for delivery. I wiped out my first one badly and was pondering other birds for a while but you know when you decide nothing compares and order your 2nd kit you are hooked;-)

The 800 Xxtreme flies like nothing i have owned before or will again. The heli is not a smack machine, it is not speed machine and certainly is not a nimble machine. Please take into account a 450 is nimble in my eyes

Long story short there are other helis out there and they all have their place but damn this machine rocks for what it is. It slows everything down and instills confidence right in the middle of fear...ask me i know hehehe

Enjoy the heli and what it teaches you cause i believe each one you own should be unique to make you experience that first hover over and over and over....and then write off your insurance policies cause those are for sissys and the money goes towards new motors and escs

dont let your better half ever know the true price of enjoyment as there is no happy ending in that conversation lol

Mine is still on the bench after the last crash. I have been working on making it a little lighter. Not going for a set wait weight, just curious to see what I can safely get it to.

3 flights today with a new Neo. I could be wrong but the Neo feels better out of the box than my old silverline did. Love this machine

Brought my big baby to the new field and proceeded with some really smooth flights, 5 in fact. Somehow stopped going inverted. Next time

It's gotten pretty cold over there, like another ice age!

Our Politicians here in Canada are raising our taxes so as to stop Global Warming from initiating another Ice Age.

I've been flirting with tip overs. I'm not sure why I can't do baby autos but I keep just surviving them. Well today it really happened. Proper tip over. All blades damaged just enough to be unsafe to fly them. Gotta check shafts, TT and tail servo. Links popped, one bent just enough. And all that after going back to inverted again. Oops

Like tipping your hat to someone but instead you tip your heli and parts in addition to the skids touch the ground. Most common on spool up by touching the cyclic before liftoff or on landing playing with the cyclic before being spooled down. During a baby auto I landed on one skid facing diagonally to myself and probably gave the wrong input. Being already way below liftoff rpm recovery wasn't possible. It shows the benefit and drawback of baby autos. The lower the rpm on landing the less the damage will be but the less you can recover.

Well forgot the Lipo straps first trip to field. Discovered I had also left the Tx at home when I got back. Been a long time since I've done that! Then found second 1mm washer for between the main and tail gears on second trip to field. Reinstalled the washer and discovered nice technique to hold them in place. Here's the pic. It's using a magnet at the end of a pointer. Just fits at the right angle when coming through the tail gear from above. Doesn't work on the 4mm pin as its not magnetic.

Managed to get three flights in on the next day. Third time lucky and all smooth

XXTREME back to operational
