Default A109 600 size motor

Building a 600 size A109.
I plan to use one of my 550 6S and stretch to 600 boom.
I have one with 11/112 and one with 11/121 (pinion/main)
If getting a 880 kv motor I would get between 1600 & 1750 rpm depending of the gear ratio.

Would that rpm enough for a 2 blades rotor with 525mm blades?

Would a 4025-890 scorpion or hyperion be a good motor for that?

RPM = 890 x 22.2 x 0.9 x 11T / 112T = 1746rpm at 100% towards the end of the flight, so governing to 95% would give you 1660rpm.

I would think that that would be enough rpm with a 600 size running 2 small blades. I was flying my 500 size UH-1N (2x 465mm) at 1700rpm.

I think most 2 blade 600s would run around 1500rpm (but with 600mm blades), and a 4x 600mm would run around 1350rpm.

Any reason why a A109 with 2 blades ? And more importantly, why such small blades ? Even if 4 blades, 525mm blades are still small for a 600 size - I would have thought either 4x 600mm or 4x 550mm.

Personally I like XNova motors (they make a 4025-830kV) - quieter, smoother, and cooler than Scorpion.

Thanks for your advises. They are always welcome.
I'll go with 600mm blades...budget will decide if I go with 2 or 4.

But if I go with 4..even the 830lva and 11 t might be too fast?

I would think it would be unless you have an active freewheeling ESC like Kontroniks or YGE.

I would suggest using the calculation above to pick a motor kV that gives you some options depending on what pinions are available. Eg.

RPM = 670kV x 22.2 x 0.9 x 12T / 112T = 1434rpm at 100% or 1362 rpm at 95% for a 4 blade

RPM = 670 x 22.2 x 0.9 x 14T / 112T = 1673rpm at 100% or 1589rpm at 95% or 1505rpm at 90% for a 2 blade

I don't see why it couldn't run on 6s;
