Jonas, I’ve been following your Rotortech 610 Ultimate thread on the main page. How do the VTX blades compare to the Rotortechs?

I’ve been looking for a long time for these to be in stock to try them.
Finally snagged a set and tried them on my 550 stretch.

Very very nice blades. For me what I noticed from my one flight is They seem to have a really linear cyclic rate. I took off my 600 rails and did no changes.
Hover was rock solid. Cyclic feel wasn’t crazy fast, but very enjoyable. High speed runs had no surprises.

Being a bit smaller than the 600’s autos had less reserve but still capable.

VTX projects are currently on hold.

Minimum requirements for all production at Funkey require a 1000 piece production run on all new blade production. A 50% deposit up front, is also required.

During testing early in the 2019 season the 607 blade design ran into some problems. To adjust and change these issues would have taken some additional time, effort and additional finances. Without a guarantee we could get them into the 2019 season and actually turn a profit on them, we had to make a decision to hold off on the project until it makes more financial sense for VTX Designs.

Funkey increased *all* production costs by 10% this year. Freight and tariff imports additionally, increased dramatically. Thus, from a financial standpoint, it was and still is exceptionally difficult project to turn into fruition.

So, we truly apologize that no new VTX projects have come to the market. We wish it were not the case. We have a lot of design work in the 607 and tail blade designs, so we will not be walking away, we just need to assure our finances do not jeopardize our other segments of our business model and bringing them to market this year 100% would have affected our other ventures dramatically.

Are VTX blades out of production while these developments are sorted out? Loved my 717s but can’t find replacements.

Looks like all the kits are sold out now too. I might have to go back to flying SAB. I vowed to never do that again though. VTX had better hurry up!!!

Is there a difference between VTX477s with and without the "B surface" label out there? I've found some of the "B surfaces" more in stock and slightly cheaper but couldn't see a difference on the spec sheet.

As I best understand it, "B surface" VTX blades have minor and superficial cosmetic blemishes, but no difference in performance compared to regular (non B surface) VTX blades.

A limited availability of VTX blades will be available for the USA in about two weeks. 697 in about 6 weeks. Once that stock runs out it will be closer to 2021 when future shipments will be available globally. It's strongly suggested to place backorders with your local USA dealers or mikadousa.com to reserve them for this season.

MSRP increased $10.00 on 717, 697 and 557 due to increased freight costs from FedEx during the Covid pandemic.

I can confirm based on what I just installed on my Logo480 that there were some blemishes. There were only visible while looking closely and definitely wouldn't be seen 10 feet away not to talk about in flight.

Easy purchase.

So are VTX blades still being made or have they decided to stop all production due to the issues highlighted by Bryan in his last post? No new stock in well over a year. Even Mikado helis no longer ship with VTX blades which has to say something?

Saw a post yesterday on crackbook that all VTX blades will start appearing at stores in 3-4 weeks.
