Gearing up for the Oxy 700?
If the raw flys anything like the kraken 580 Nitro I'll be pretty darn happy.
That thing has to be the best flying model I've owned. Used to be my logo 600 and Synergy 696.

I now find the logos too sharp off center. Always have, but never minded this until you fly a 696, Protos 700 or this 580 Kraken and these do not exhibit this characteristic.
This is on brain 2, beastx, and even vbar.

I like the Protos 700 a lot too. Very nice heli. Mine is a v2 and super heavy though. It does exhibit bobble on the head on certain headspeeds.

Protos 700 EVO has to be one of the smoothest flying helis I have flown and very quiet. I wish they would design a break-away boom though and if my drive belt breaks one more time, it's gone.

Yep, I'm on the new system. Belt broke after 40 flights. Likely early from it slipping once from not having tight enough. Now it's good and tight. We'll see.

I couldn't decide between the mcpx bl2 and the 150s so, I ordered them both! They are out for delivery along with some batteries and spare parts. The day after I placed the order is the day the prices at Horizon jumped up! I got lucky. Now I see the 150s is out of stock. I suspect that new SMART version is likely on it's way. If I managed to luck out and get one of the last regular 150s versions I'm thrilled! Not ready to re invest in new chargerds etc yet.

I Already have a 230s V2 and an older flybarred 450 (that I still fly at times). My next purchase will be a kit, looking seriously at the Align 470 super combo kit. Am I the only one that starts planning their next heli purchase before the current one arrives?

Some parts for the oxy3. New belt, tail servo mounts, main shaft and spindle and MS Composit blades. Had a slight tip over and it was due for maintenance. Really been a nice flying little ship.

Just skimmed through the last few pages of this thread. Looks like Javier is warming up to the idea of a nitro!

LOL not at all my friend, not at all. I think I would get something not Goblin rather than a Nitro hehe. I did enjoy the smoke displays on nitro flights. But then a friend kept walking up to the flight line with his nitro and kept walking back without flying it and picking up his electric. Eventually it flew but meh not for me for sure.

One time the owner of my then local hobby shop told me he didn't haven't any heli parts because no one can fly them and no one wants to because they are too hard.

One peron's or even many peoples' experience is a poor indicator of things unfortunately, but does seem to grow legs.

It works the same the other way around. TONS of people tell me Nitro is the best, it teaches you collective management, it has soul, etc. Then I see these failures, see the mess, see the cost of fuel. Then I take all into account and make my decision. No nitro for me. I am happy with my electrics

Fuel cost sucks for sure. No way to deny that.

Frank will have you flying nitro by August 2022.

No, many peoples' experience would pretty much cover the indicator of things, unless you've never seen the issues posted anywhere. It's kind of like a Lamborghini, I'd love to drive one once, but I be damned if I want to own one. One guy told me that nitro is fun, but it will flat out break your heart. Personally, I don't need the heartache. The mess is enough to keep me away. Stop right there. Done.

The mess. Wow. Grab a paper towel and wipe every few flights. Oh man. I dying. Oh noooooos.

Heartache. Yeah. If you are clueless and can't take the time to learn to tune and how to set up.

I see people have crashes cause their soldering sucks, batteries dump and wires comes undone.. Guess electric is a heartache!

Instant gratification. It's here to stay.

Thatís the beauty of this hobby. As small and niche as it is, thereís something for everyone. If you like to tweak internal combustion engines youíll probably love nitros. Personally yes, I am not the least interested in the additional challenge nitro poses for me. I canít stop playing with FBL settings and keep asking more experienced pilots to give me tuning and setup advice. Got my hands full with electric as it is.

My goal is to get to fly better. And I donít want my equipment to be on the way of that. I want something consistent and reliable which I understand nitro is not and many nitro pilots agree. I choose my equipment and have flipped out of some brands precisely to ensure day in and day out reliability. Nothing is perfect I know but Iíve settled with what has worked for me.

I understand the high cost of Goblin repairs gets in the way of my goal but part of the hobby for me is also to have something I like aesthetically. So no, a massive pipe on the side of a Heli is also not aesthetically pleasing to me even on a Goblin.

Nitro is just not for me. But glad to have options for people who do like it.

Nah. I totally agreed with u toad. You'd get frustrated. You like tinkering still with flybarless and learning. Adding more to the plate and it would not be fun for you.

It's not for everyone. Noise, smoke, cost etc.

Still fun to mess with you.

For me nitro cars one always loved and still run them the most.

This kraken 580 nitro... Oh man. I'm hooked. It's been unreal fun
I'm selling most of my electrics.
