Default Spectrum Question

Hello,

Any Spectrum radio using heli folks out there?
I have a question about channel assign.

I use a Spectrum radio and I am building a collective pitch, scale flight heli from a kit.
This is my first kit.
I've done mostly BNF type helis that had the transmitter/rcvr already setup as far as channel selection.
Through many crashes and rebuilds, I've learned about rotor heads and swash leveling and the like.

However, this is my first build from a kit.
Its collective pitch and I purchased a Naza gyro for it.

The question I have is, assigning channels.
What goes where as far as pitch, roll, collective and yaw?
I'm using a DX18 and will probly use a 8 channel receiver.
Thanks for any help,

M

In the US we use what is called Mode 2.

Pitch/roll is on the right stick and collective/throttle and yaw are on the left.

The individual directions for each is intuitive looking at the heli from the rear.

What channels do they typically go into on a Spectrum receiver?
Meaning Pitch, Roll, Yaw and collective?
Isn't collective on its own channel but mixed in with the other channels?

Look at the order they are in the Monitor screen from top to bottom.

OK then that makes sense. Thanks very much.

Anyone ever use the Naza-H gyro?

I don't use a receiver and I have found the best route is not to use a separate receiver if your FBL unit will allow it, but to use 2 satellite receivers. It makes it much cleaner and works well. Make sure you select 1 servo for your swash mix. Also make sure you follow your servo assignment for your fbl unit.

The Naza-H directions are very vague.
Do you know where I can get better detail on setup?

I believe the original question you asked are going to between your transmitter and NAZA. There's setting you are going to set up through the NAZA, and a few items will be set through your transmitter.

I have used NAZA, and currently have Skookum 720's. I just finished setting up a 700 tonight. The main item is getting your swash plate level, then calibrate your servo's per the tutorial guide from NAZA.

I had to reverse several channels which is done through the gyro, and a few items (switch assignment) was done through the transmitter.

Your first one will be a little tough. There a lot of videos out there that will help explain some processes.
