Interested for sure, no other micro I have ever flown has come close to flying as well as the 130x so I'm certainly watching this one. Even without piro comp it did everything else so well and I could fly it in just about the same space as a nano because it was so predictable.

This new model certainly seems to qualify for a new sub-forum...

Especially since it renews life in a size we all have had serious tail issues with !

Why linear servos?!

Meanwhile one russian guy designed a line of micros which I consider the most advanced micros in 60/100/120 size - http://forum.rcdesign.ru/f59/thread4...ml#post6645176 Blade should really consider working with that guy.

The linear servos in my 120sr took a hit extremely well and lasted forever without any twitching at all.

Hope this heli is fairly cheap and robust with decent power, wouldn't mind having a backyard basher.

Being a Blade I'll certainly wait for plenty of user feedback before buying it, but this one just might get me to buy a brand I swore off a while ago

I wonder if it will use the same linear servos that are in the newer 120S. I've not had a real problem with them except for overdriving one once. It was my bad on that when I was really new.

Do I see one of those little green circuit boards they use on that picture ???
Look right below (or above being inverted) the canopy grommet.

Improved 130X. I'm in. Still have my old one and that thing is a tank. Just the tail was difficult. Balance blades, cracked boom, no straight tail shaft T shape and etc... Hope this one will be a great 3d trainer if it's crashes pretty good.

Im down to try a 130 sized double brushless heli. Id prefer it to be mcpx sized but a 130 would be good enough.

I see it has a gear driven tail, but How do you change the pitch, or does it engage and disenguage as needed?

Looks like it is variable speed, just has the tail motor up front with a shaft/gearset transmission. The increased rotational inertia relative to direct drive would dampen the tail response, effectively lowering mechanical gain. The outrunner should have extra torque to overcome that inertia, so it may still work well. Would like to see a flying video!

No, the tail motor is right back at the end of the boom and the tail prop is bolted directly to the motor shaft via a prop hub type adapter. The only thing running through the boom is three wires for the brushless motor. It's the same exact setup as the 230S and 250CFX. The only gear mesh on the heli outside of the servo cases is the main motor pinion and main gear.

Are you talking about the Russian micro? If so, the tail motor is in the frame next to the rear servo. There is a drive shaft connected to it that runs through the boom. Then there are bevel gears like the one's that sucked on the 130x in the tail case that turn the power 90 degrees to the tail prop.

Since you quoted me, no, I was talking about the 130S. And, how it relates to the 230S and 250CFX of the same design with NO gear driven tail on any kind. Only wires in the boom.

Oh, I understand. I just saw you quoted a guy that quoted a guy that was talking about the russian micro.

FWIW, I was talking about the Russian micro in the earlier link. I realize the elusive 130s will likely have a direct drive tail motor.
