Default Making a Frankencopter

I am brand new to the world of RC Helicopters, and at the moment I just have a few cheap (but fun) models. I have two AirHogs Sharpshooter Longshots, which were only $15 each. One of them came out of the box not working (not really surprising for that price). The problem seems to just be that the power switch connection is frayed (the working helicopter has a similar problem, but can be made to work by wiggling the switch a bit). I bought them mainly because they have little dart guns attached to the side, which makes for a fun time. The problem is that they are very hard to control (which was entirely get what you pay for, after all).

We also have another small, cheap copter, but one that is much easier to control. My question is, would it be possible to snatch the canons from the non-working helicopter and attach them to the better helicopter? Or would it be way more effort than it is worth?

Thanks for your time
