iKon - full, mini, or micro?
Maybe this is a dumb question? I have googled and searched the forums, read all the specs on Helidirect's website and still not clear on it.
If iKon can reduce all the electronics down into the micro size fbl unit, why have the other two sizes? I don't see any literature on limitations of heli size in the descriptions or specs of each unit... What's the skinny? |

So if I'm happy using a remote usb connection, I may as well put a micro on a Gaui X5 instead of a full size because it's a lot cheaper, half the size, and half the weight... right?

Tiny plugs on the micro cannot handle full size servos, they said they tested up to 450 size (325 blades). I wouldn't use it on a 450 myself.
But the Mini version is fine on 700s.

You could use the micro on an X2, I think it comes with adapters for a standard servo plug. Probably won't save you a lot of weight though since you add the adapter weight.

The micro connector of the mcroBrain, can handle half the current of the standard connectors of the other Brain size.
With microBrain you don't have ch2/aux connector so is not possible to use standard receivers nor control external accessory (landing gear, light, glow plug, etc) or connect a second/supplementary/redundant power plug (see Opti power). With micro Brain that don't have the on board USB connector you can use the remote USB OR one external bluetooth module, but not together. microBrain is ideal for micro/mini rc-elicopter. |
