Default Jeti test drive

I signed up yesterday. Hoping the radio arrives before the weekend. I've been on the fence a while so this service may push me into a commitment. I chose the DS16.

What radio are you coming from?

There's an abundance of help here if you need it, and of course you can always call James at Esprit to walk you through some things as well.

The radio (and the associated ecosystem of sensors, FBLs, and rxs) is an excellent investment. No other radio comes close at the moment to matching the quality and feature set of the system when applied to helis, complex planes, and gliders.

I'm coming from spektrum. I bought into the "Flagship" radio when the DX18QQ came out.... that's another story.... I emailed James Monday and he said the program doesn't officially start until today. I was hoping to have it by the weekend.. But they have had my deposit since Tuesday so we will see.

Unlike most other items you purchase that generally allow you to try and return within 30 days if not fully satisfied, the general policy in this hobby is that once you break the seal, return of the item is not possible. That really limits what an individual is able to try. This "test drive" program is a game changer in a positive direction.

It appears that JetiUSA is betting that you'll have a hard time handing back the radio and I suspect it's a good bet.

I'd take that bet...

Haha! Yeah! This is awesome.

Word of advice:

Bundle a REX receiver with it!!!

Many folks might have a brain2, want to rock the built in brain and ESC telemetry, and of course, the integration.

EDIT: BTW, the hard deck came up in another thread in main, so I passed this on.

It arrived today! Well... I had to drive across town to get it on a Saturday but I have it!

All I can say is WOW! Menus are great and the feel of the gimbals is what i've been looking for! I strapped the Rx in a small Sport Cub and ran out the door for a test flight. I can't tell if it's the radio or what but it feels so much more responsive than spektrum. I can't wait to program my Raptor E700 in it tonight!

That sensitivity is I think the hall sensors. They are deadly accurate even with tiny movements around mid stick. To soften this, folks use about 20% more expo than they did on Spektrum. You won't loose any accuracy or crispness, but it won't be as much of a system shock.

You'll love it.

I noticed the same thing the first time I flew my 450L with the Jeti after my DX9. So your not imagining it.

I'm thinking about signing up but I don't know if I should try the DS 16 or the DS 14 first. I currently have a Futaba 14SG and I am a thumb flyer. This will be my first time ever trying or even touching a Jeti. My thinking is I may ultimately go with the DS 16, so I should try the DS 14.

Go for what you want in the end. 14 is great but 16 does come with all the bells snd whistles....

Being a pincher, I have just handled the DS but the main difference in your choice between -16 an -14 will be:

1) Plastic or metal. Personally the metal of my DC-16 really impressed me for the feel of quality compared to all other radios I have had (all JR top end).

2) Weight. The -16 being metal will be heavier but the shoulder straps are soooo comfortable that compared to a neck strap the weight does not matter.

3) Programming. You can upgrade the -14 to be almost as potent as the -16 but not quite. If you need it all might, as well go for the -16. If you only fly helicopters you probably will not need it all unless you are planning to go scale.

Nice to have tough choices isn't it. Either way I think you will love it
