Setup for other Heli ? 500 or 600 for a 550 ?

I am fairly new to the VControl. I am going to setup my Diabolo 550 (550mm blades). Do I start with the 500 heli setup program ?

Never set up a 550 on vcontrol. But, I've flown plenty. My feeling is they are closer to a 600 feel than a 500 feel. So I'd start with 600 setup if it were mine to do. I redid my 600se once from the 600 preset by accident and honestly couldn't tell the difference in the air. I think once you go through the tweak guide you'll dial it in perfectly either way.

I think if it was me I would compare the data then make the call. Here is some basics for align helis.

I setup my Diabolo 550 using the 500 on the VBC. I only needed to adjust the tail gain on the maiden, the rest was spot on

I asked the same question on Vstabi.info and the answer was to start with the 500 setup. And change the heli size value a few points "in between" ;-)

I think that may make sense as the diabblo tail blades are 80mm and the align 500 tail blades are 78mm.

You can use 85mm as well, which i will install on my setup.

Heli size selection is not that critical to get it exactly as it merely is a function to let the control loops have a starting point for mass distribution. Normally use the size value closest to your helicopter size and all will work perfectly.
