Default Nano QX 3D LED repair

So it looks like nearly everyone with a QX 3D is having LED issues. It appears to be an issue with the tiny 0603 smd (surface mount) resistor on the flexible leg of the frame. So tonight I decided to try something a little drastic. Instead of using another surface mount resistor I soldered on a regular through-hole resistor. It was the smallest one I could find (in my house) but it's still enormous relative to the 0603 SMD. My theory though is that maybe the leads will allow enough flex so that this one won't be so fragile.

By the way, it turns out these resistors are 680 ohms. That surprised me.

I'm curious to hear if others have tried this, or maybe another approach they've found to be robust.

Nothing is ever as good or as bad as it seems.
