Thats a really good price when you look at what comes in the kit. Almost makes me want to stretch mine but I like the stock size.

Good price on the kit but you have to worry about replacement parts. If I still had my 450x and wanted to go bigger I'd probably just sell it and get a 470lp.

I have 3 of them and just bought another off rctrader. My cunning plan is to upgrade one to IKON Brain 2 BT from the 7200bx so it has safe and self level and if it works as well as I think I will do more.

There is a hobby shop that went splat near here which has about a gazillion 450x and 300x parts which I will try to grab at auction for $bugger all so that will keep us out of the poo for yonks.

I love my 450s as they are a good size, use cheap batts as opposed to the 360cfx and they fly well enough for anything I want to do.

For me, it remains a good platform to build off of and I have a metric ton of parts. However, I did build a hybrid 450x/360cfx that I maidened today. The stock frame sucks and I wanted to save my spare lynx 450x parts for my other 450x.

Does what I need it to do

It will also be nice if Lynx relaunches some of the 450x parts they discontinued. The 330x will need a frame. Why Blade used the 450x frame is a mystery (other than they still had a warehouse full of cheap frames).

That would be terrific if Lynx added some of the "330/450" Stretch components. I love the stretch boom and belt. Unfortunately, OXY has taken over as the priority.

I am happy to see HH re-release the 325mm machine. My 450x is still flown on a regular basis locally for a quick few flights and practice. I'm happy to see parts support continue.

My LHS has blade 400 parts, 450 parts and many other discontinued heli parts. They said you can still order 450x parts from Horizon. I'm guessing old stock but let look at the trend lately with horizon and old birds. MCPX - S is back, 180CFX - Trio back, 450X - 330X Back. Seems they know we are out there and there is no reason not to fly any of our old birds. Looks like all of them will be supported by cross referenced parts for a long time.

They are reaping the market for learners and daily flyers that crash and need parts. Good business model for LHS's and the only reason I keep any blade products...........so I can crash!

This, while I understand Lynx's position regarding making parts for a heli that is out of production, I was irritated that they quit making the main frame assembly. Its why I went and used a 360cfx (mentioned upthread) assembly to resurrect my second 450x when the frame got worn out.

I'm beginning to get pretty adept at cross using parts from separate models. Sure saves money

As for being outdated, I just got back from the field after putting five packs through mine. My "lynx" heli is perfect for inverted flight training, smooth and forgiving. Ain't obsolete when it comes to me

Granted, when the oxy4 comes out my opinion may change a bit. But,i have scads of 450x parts, enough to pretty much last me past the day I assume room temperature

Thumbs up

Define obsolete...

I was about to pull the trigger on a smaller 230S but found this lonely 450X at my local Toys for Tott's swap meet so I got it dirt cheap.

This is my first heli by the way...

I got it almost brand new in box RTF for $180 and have found tons of places with spare parts online.

Here's a video of my first and second flights, right out of the box and a few hours on a simulator.

Mi primer vuelo de helicóptero 🚁 (5 min 46 sec)

I must admit that I do have lots of fixed wing and racing drone experience, so that helped too.

I'm learning a ton of new things...

Cheers fellow pilots!

The 450X is certainly alive and well here in Fargo...at least at My house

1) Stock 450X frame w/ several Lynx upgrades and 4S motor

2) MicroHeli CF frame with Lynx upgrades and 6S motor

3) MicroHeli CF frame w/Lynx Stretch Kit and 6S motor

4) Lynx CF frame w/Lynx Stretch Kit and 6S motor

All have iKON FBL and Castle Talon35 ESC's

Half of them on stock servo's - the other half on KST 215's

Will use the stock 270CFX batteries I have plus new Pulse Ultra 1050's

I'm seriously considering the 330X...the news that work is handing out $1000 tax-incentive bonuses on next weeks paycheck kinda tipped the scales for Me...just so I can find a use for (3) 3S batteries

That was a great heli, and still is. Fun little bird to jet around the yard. I think all of the different sizes are getting out of control. Is a 325 a stretched 280?

Every mfg'r wants us to believe that the method they choose to name their model line is the correct one...

If the name refers to blade size...why just one blade?

If a new model is a stretch version...why isn't it a new model size?

If I had to make a decision on a number...I'd just use the disk size

Exactly, I would either pick the rotor disk as a whole, or the blade size. It seems like they have a different model every 10mm which seems like a waste to me.
