![]() Hello...
Sadly I need some helpful advice on my PL6, I have a S1200 50A 1200w 12-24v power supply and the MPA board. Up to now no problems, but this time charging 4x3cell 2.200 batteries, all connections correctly, connected. Charging on preset 1, 2200mha = 4 8800, no problem charged to 90%, then I noticed a very small amount of white smoke coming out of the back of the PL6, so immediately switched it all off. Unplugged batteries, felt PL6, it felt warm and a very small amount of condensation came out of the PC connector hole, so I let it cool. Undid the 4 screws and had a quick look inside the PL6, couldn't see any damage or signs of burning or anything. Switched it all on again, and the PL6 started as normal, no faults, plugged in 3x3c 2200 batteries, same settings, and they charged no problem. The only difference was on the 1st charge, the voltage was set to around 16v and the 2nd charge, the voltage was reduced to 12v. Any ideas? Do you think the higher voltage may have overloaded it, and it started to overheat? Is there an auto test on the PL6? Can I trust it? Really appreciate any help, the UK dealer, weren't very helpful. Thanks. |

![]() Smoke is never a good sign. I would suggest opening a support ticket:
