Default K110 tail repair tips

So I was getting a bit out of control in 3D mode and the tail finally broke on me. (had been running ok with tape for awhile )

I have extra booms, but am not sure what all there is to replacing it. Any soldering involved? I have an iron, but am not very good with it at the moment.

Thanks,

You only have to solder if you want to pass the wire through the boom. You can wrap the wire around the boom and avoid the soldering. The issue is that if you boom strike your tail with the blades, that you can cut the wire. You can run the wire down the opposite side to the direction of rotation and just glue the wires on.

Defo get a solid boom (for V977) and shrinkwrap outside the boom and the wires. You'll never break that boom! (no soldering required)

I made an easy cheater jig for butt soldering wires that lets my soldered joints look the same or better than factory. Just need a couple small alligator clips and a coat hanger. . I used a tool holder for peg-board to make mine, but I've made a few for friends.

Late reply, but I appreciate the tips. I ended up wrapping the boom and it worked fine. Though several weeks later I hit the house and the tail motor ripped out. One wire was down to the plastic cap so it's looking like a new motor one is needed.

I got busy and put the k110 away until now and am ordering some parts.

Is it recommended to soldier the connnections or will a simple twist and heat wrap suffice?

Thanks

Soldering is the only way to go.
