Default Found a negative on VTX blades

I unfortunately found a negative on VTX blades. No fault of the manufacturing, but just is what it is. Because of how the tips are designed, they do not like blade scrapes at all. The tips get chewed up very easily so when landing especially on pavement, be careful. The first time I was able to repair, but the second time chewed the tip of one of the blades. Both happened on a less than perfect landing and both times barely touch on spool down. Oh well, still awesome blades.

That's kinda expectable, it's just a couple CF prepreg sheets after all. I once completely remodeled an entire VTX tip using Epoxy. Lotta work, but totally worth it.

How do you manage to scratch blades on pavement without totally ruining the whole helicopter?

Not trying to defend the blades (I don't own VTX blades). I am just curious. Whever one of my blades hit the ground it is usually a catastrophic event resulting in massive repairs involving much more than just the blades.

Sometimes the auto-landing isn't perfect or the fbl tries to correct as its touching down. Occasionally as the blades are spinning down, I have a slight tip over and sometimes scuff the blades. In previous cases, usually ends up being just a little bit of scuffed paint.

Do you land with power?
