Default Main shaft play

Just finished building the Agile 5.5. There was a post previously written but didnt 100% get the answer.

Question is: Is it normal to have play between the main shaft and the sleeve? Theres a sleeve that goes in the one way bearing. The hub secures onto the sleeve and the main shaft goes in the sleeve but has left and right play. Is this normal with the 5.5? I have a 7.2 and the hug secures directly onto the shaft so there is zero play.

Cheers.

just checked mine. It's very negligible, like the play you would see the owb bearing,

I would seem to me if there is play, it would cause the tail spiral bevel gear to wooble which would not be good. I'd contact KDS and see if they can provide a replacement - not sure if would be the sleeve or main shaft, which I would guess would be based on how well the main bearings fit on the main shaft.

Its not bearing play as such. More so you hold the gear assembly from moving with one hand and you can spin the rotor head about 1/4 inch forwards and backwards.

Thanks for the reply.

So just so ive explained it correctly. its the shaft rotating in the sleeve ever so slightly. Like if you hold the gear assemly still, you can spin the rotor head forwards and backwards about 1/4 inch. Is that normal on these helis?

I have this problem too. It doesn't seem to affect the way it flies but Can you please explain what you did to get rid of the play.
Cheers
