Default Very bad soldering

So... bought a second hand heli lately, and it came with a LiPo. It looked a bit dodgy, so I cut the heat shrink off ... and found this...!

People. If your soldering looks like this, do a favour to humanity and get help!

Wow. I will also add not to cut off both pieces of heat shrink at the same time.

If that's the lipo, it's also got the wrong connector on it. Should be the female on the lipo.

Looks like a bird pooped on it! Glad you caught that, might have been problematic down the road. Good job!

Yeah. Took me a while to realise that. I was so concentrated on admiring the soldering LOL!

Looks like you've also got a heli to completely tear down and rebuild if that soldering is any indication of assembly...

I used to solder like that. From my experience it looks like a combination of lead free solder and a low temp iron. With those two what you see is about as good as you're gonna get. Good Iron + 6040 really fixed my soldering.

Wow! That is way worse than even my worst soldering! I agree with others, tear that heli down and rebuild.

Early on I bought lead free solder without knowing any different and my results turned out much like that. Once I got some proper 37/63 things went much better.

In XT60, male case has female bullets, and female case has male bullets...

Maybe we should just ask it what gender it feels like it is?

Lol, but really. Connectors genders usually go by the contact, not the housing. So female on batteries and male on ESCs..

I bought the heli for spares anyway. Got it very cheap

Apparently it had been crashed, and the previous owner never got through fixing it. All moving parts were new and un-threadlocked and untightened. Surprisingly, the body was build properly.

Nice pile of spares!
