Default Upgraded motor to a savox 500kv

Found a new savox 500kv motor for only $45, to install in the 600x I had to shorten the motor shaft and flip the motor mount. Still running a 80 amp esc, motor spec states 100amp continuous, guess I need to upgrade to the 120 a either talon or phoenix edge next.

Default So how did it work out?

Hi flyinggoose. How did your Savox motor work out for you? I assume it is still 12S? And are you using the OEM 17T pinion? I have always wondered what motor I would use when my E-Flite B600X motor dies. Also, I know that pinions are hard to find.

Good to know that there are a few B600Xs still flying out there!

Motor worked great till I crashed, really needs a bigger esc than the 80a esc, savox is rated 100a continuous, stock pinion, had to shorten shaft and mod canopy to fit. Was hard to pass up 45 dollars for a new motor. Just bought a align 600efl to re kit 600x, wasn't worth repairing the 600x with parts getting harder to find.

Yes, I know what you mean on parts getting hard to find. Sorry to hear about the crash. I still have 2 600X helicopters that I have yet to put in the air. Maybe this week for one, or maybe the following weekend. I have CC 120 ESCs for both. For me, really late the party with the B600X, but I hope it flies well soon and will stay together for a few months! Best of luck with the Align 600!

That's cool, you'll love the 600, it was my first big Bird coming from 450 size, 600 just floats in the air in comparison, blade farts are awesome, during pitch changes. Maiden the align today, fly similar to me doing sport flying.
