Default What did you do with your mCPS today?

There is one of these in every forum. I figured I'd start this one.

First, I had no idea that Steve or Brian were back at Blade. Welcome back, you are great ambassadors for Blade and for the hobby! Or maybe you never fully left?

The Blade mCPX is my first CP heli-March, 2011, I still have 3. One with over 1,000 flights.

I will probably purchase the mCPS. These are just fun little helicopters.

I look forward to another gateway drug from Blade and any comments that Brian or Steve might care to share with us. Also to the first post in this forum from an actual owner of the mCPS.

Got Mine...and quickly swapped the stock tail for the BLH3602 extended tail boom and an OverSky 7mm tail motor w/42mm Lynx tail rotor...

Perfect hover and piro...

Never satisfied, I swapped the stock head for a mCPX BL MicroHeli gold DFC head and swash...along with an o-ring kit...BL Heli Parts mGoblinX canopy and KBDD landing gear...and mCPX BL main blades...

Needs a bit of tuning and sure...it's heavy...but flies great

Can hardly wait for the brushless conversion kit in Nov

Did you fly it in stock form.... if so, was there ant flight characteristics better or worse than the original.

Couple questions: 1) Did it act normal on idle up? 2) Can you run the swash up and down in Throttle Hold?

Mine seemed to have been checked with a non-digital radio...I had to bind in digital mode to get proper swash movement...there are some "different" setup steps from the typical Blade model...

The SPM file is at spektrumrc.com and attached below

My experiences with the 6mm tail motor on the V1/V2 made Me swap the tail setup first...so no bone-stock flight

Using the SPM file...Yes and Yes...if you had an issue with swash movement try the BNF digital binding - see attached

Has anyone tested the heli out of the box without grades?

Im flying all stock. Flies perfectly in all modes. Only thing i plan on doing is switching to a solid tail when the hollow one breaks

WOW... You didn't waste no time did you, Of course when you have all the parts on hand ( i would guess you did or ordered when ordered the heli) i guess its nice to do that... O f course I would had flown it bone stock just to see how it flew. I flew a bone stock MCPX for a very long time before i did anything to it... i would say extended length solid tail boom was the biggest improvement on my MCPX's besides going BL
So with all those upgrades and 130s blades how does it fly? wheres the video

I only ordered the BNF...everything else is from parts I have from several years of mods/upgrades and dozens of mCPX's...

It flies great...I'm no smack pilot (and have no desire for it) but for what I do it's great...

When I want to show off punchouts I use the brushless outrunner nCPX or a 150X...but for a smooth sport/mild 3D flyer the mCPS is perfect...and the 130S main blades make it float like a butterfly

Wow Jon, that really looks nice! I bet the orange and extra fuselage help in seeing it from a distance.

I noticed mine had those grommets on the swash push-rods pre-installed. They're black not red though. There may be more, can't remember if I saw more or not. Everything is so darn small !!

The black factory rubber grommets are 001...

I use the silicone 002's and the head is much more stable

And yes the orange canopy makes seeing it a lot easier...and the orange stripes on the main blades help with disk orientation

And for a time this will be My avatar

Had my first non-grass crash that broke the tail boom right at the frame.

Happened immediately after spool-up in Normal mode. The heli shot up (?) and I knee-jerked and brought her down quick, clipping the edge of the picnic table on its way down to the concrete But, my faux boom support held the broken tail boom assembly more or less in place and prevented it from flopping around and getting mangled in the blades

Guess I'll be installing one of those extended tail booms. Hopefully nothing else was damaged.

Of course, perfect flying weather today too

Well flew a few flights this morning after a month long break(slight lack of interest and busy with other things). Having some great weather here the last few days in the Northeast...a little windy though but, not this morning.

This little heli does fly good though. Today I found the stock battery seemed to perform better than the Lectron 300's ?? I know the 210's are lighter but the head speed seemed better with the stock's. Maybe because it is cooler, It is the middle of October.

I am debating whether or not to do the brushless upgrade that should be released any day now. It is pretty balanced for what it is now. If you put more power on the mains it may effect the tail blow outs.

This heli is great for the back yard and the Nano is for the house. All is good.

I almost felt the same thing when buying mine, I had lot of fun with my Nano before I went with 250-450 helis. I tought the mcp s would be fun but finally once you get use to much more powerfull helis it is hard to go back. It is great for sport flying and orientation tought.

I guess I'm opposite. I moved on to larger helis too soon, and eventually my learning stalled. Now I'm back to practicing with a Nano and loving its crash resilience. Seriously considering an mcps too.
