I bought my Mcp S 5 days ago as my first foray into CP flying and so far its going well. I've only done 20 flights and so far havent crashed it, despite that a crack has appeared in the canopy propagating from one of the rear fixing holes.

I'm just transitioning to the agility mode and I've copied the stabilty mode throttle and pitch curves i to agility mode as I don't want to deal with idle up just yet.
I'm finding that in order to cope with agility mode I have to go back to basics and learn to hover all over again, despite being able to throw my old FB equipped Msr all over the place.

So any advice on transitioning from trainer mode to full CP control would be appreciated. I just want to fly around in a scale like manner, I'm too old for 3D

Today I had a crash that twisted the tail motor mount making the rotor face upward a little bit. I didn't bother to fix instead I decided to finish the flight. It turned out to track better during flip and roll, like the Ncps.

I then replaced the tail with metal mount and 17000kv motor from MMW, maybe psychological but I did feel the tail holds better than the one it used to have which is 14000kv. I didn't smash the stick though due to windy weather.

Just like to share this

Im with you in the Old fart section Bargee

My mcps is my first ever heli and i must say she is a tough little machine. My upgrades so for are Microheli Carbon Fiber Landing Gear and also a aluminum Swash plate, The weakest link imho is the standard swash as the little balls break so easy.

My aim is to eventually build a scale 500 size, No 3d for me I leave that for the simulator lol

2+ years after starting this thread I purchased my first mcps. A used NIB plus a new brushless conversion on RC Groups for $98.00. Shipped today. Should have it next week.

Waste of money? Or enough improvements over the mcpx to be appreciated? I enjoyed the mcpx, but was annoyed that if I were even a little ham fisted flipping inverted it would just shut down and fall to the ground. Had to be either really gentle or use little half loops to get inverted without the motor shutting down.

We'll see. I'm aware it us probably on the way to being discontinued. What is replacing it? 150X?

Still can be challenging to flip. For me, it was always the tail hold that gave me trouble.

I love my trex 150x, but it can be quite a jump from the mcps, performance-wise. Meanwhile, the mcpx bl2 is nearly to be released. That might be a great move up from the mcps. We'll see ...
