Default San Diego Heliween Fun Fly October 13-15, 2017

The construction activity around the entry road to Johnson Field is slowing down so we can go ahead and plan for this years San Diego Heliween Fun Fly. This year we will be supporting the "Toys for Tots" program.

Date: Friday October 13, 2017 to Sunday October 15, 2017

Location: Palomar RC Flyers "Johnson Field", located at I-15 and Pala Rd./Hwy 76 in Fallbrook, CA. Go to our website for further details about the field location: https://www.palomarrcflyers.com/

Cost: $20 pilots entry fee + a new, unopened toy (to donate to Toys for Tots). Spectators are always free to attend.

The Heliween Fun Fly is a great event for pilots of all skill levels. If you're a new pilot and considering attending a Fun Fly but are nervous, don't be! Everyone started as a new pilot and you'll meet new friends and learn new skills. We will put the "Fun" in Fun Fly.

This will be an AMA sanctioned event so proof of current AMA registration will be required at the Registration Table.

Make sure to check back here frequently to get updates.

I know that several of you are going to ask about camping throughout the weekend so here is some info:

1). RV's and trailers are allowed. There are no water or sewer hookups so you need to be contained.

2). If you're the rugged outdoorsy kind you can pitch a tent.

3). Fire Season: We will be in the Fire Season so absolutely NO open fires are permitted. No fireworks, no guns. Gas stoves are OK.

4). Food:The Club will be opening up it's famous cooking area and meals will be available. "Smokin'" Joe Villareal will be staffing the barbeque so you can expect something to please every carnivore.

Default Hobbico/Great Planes

The very gracious folks at Hobbico/Great Planes have sent us a Tactic transmitter as a pilots raffle prize.

If you haven't used a Tactic transmitter before they are great for helis, planes, and drones. I've personally used them on drones and even a couple STEM robotics projects. They are fully programmable and easy to use.

If you want to check it out further go to Hobbicos website: Tactic 2.4GHz SLT Transmitters

MANY, MANY THANKS TO HOBBICO FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE RC HOBBY!!!!!!

Default HobbyTown San Marcos - you're the best!

Always remember to support your local hobby store, they are there for you and their people are the best.

HobbyTown San Marcos has just donated 8 RealFlight Add-On and Expansion Packs as raffle prizes.

HobbyTown has always been a great partner to the Palomar RC Flyers Club and I'd like to offer my personal thanks to Lori from HobbyTown for arranging this!

Default PRCF runway resealing

Our runway will be resealed next week and will be as smooth as glass for next months Heliween Fun Fly.

The brush at the field has been mowed and everything is looking great.

Hope to see you all there!

Default Toys For Tots

This year the Palomar RC Flyers wanted to do something a little different to benefit our community. We have partnered with the United States Marine Corps Toys For Tots program to provide gifts for underprivilaged and deserving youth in San Diego County.

I just got off the phone with Gunnery Sergeant Allan Pena who is the San Diego Coordinator for the Toys For Tots program. They are going to be dropping off donation boxes at the field before the Heliween Fun Fun. We are asking that pilots consider donating a new and unused toy as part of the Pilot Registration process. If you forget a toy we'll have a Toys For Tots donation can that you can drop a monetary donation in to. GSgt Pena will have a couple of his Marines at the Heliween Fun Fly on the afternoon of Saturday October 14.

We'll also be encouraging donations from spectators.

You guys are always the best at these Fun Flys and we're hoping to make the holidays a little bit better for the children in the county.

Thanks to all!
