Default Smaller pinion/pulley listed !

The Compass site has an 18 tooth pinion/pulley listed as being available in a few weeks. Is this something that's been on the site forever and not materialized or a welcome new addition ?

When I crash I try to get two of what breaks so I have PLENTY of spares. Only need the pinion, so I'll wait for cheaper shipping (or I'll need something else by then)! Dan

Sebastian was very clear that they're on the way.

Anybody who sees them listed, let us know. You can't get a "back in stock" notification on something that hasn't been in stock. Dan

With the stock motor, what would be the maximum rpm? Has anyone tested it?

I'm aiming for 2300-ish rpm with the hobbywing 100a esc, governed by the vbar

That's a good question. I'm certain our teammates in Germany have tested it. Maybe they can chime in?

All that said, max headspeed can be calculated using various head speed calculators. For your setup, if possible, simply plug in the ratio and go from there. It's more difficult using the HW governor alone as that is throttle curve based. Taching is the only way that I know how to determine it. I'd set a curve at 85% flat and tach it.

25.2v x 1000kV (stock motor) = 25200RPM

25200/(150/18) = 3,024 RPM

3,024 RPM x .9(system efficiency factor) = 2721 MAX unloaded RPM

2721RPM *.85 (gov headroom) = 2313RPM

I would say that 18t will be perfect for 2300RPM govd on most govs.

Thanks, I calculated roughly the same, but I got confused about the voltage to use in the equation.

When it hits the shops in europe I will order an 18t

Edit:
I see you used 4.2v, shouldn't that be 3.7v? I guess that's how i got confused

I tend to use 4.2, but you could use 3.85 or 3.7. Think of the HS values you get as full pack, mid pack, low pack. but I find using full pack and 85% throttle gives me a good gov value.
