Default v bar = cheating

i have been flying my gaui x5 with an ikon2 with Bluetooth for a while now(couple of months) before that it was with a cgy750 , both fly nicely but there was some wobbles and flight characteristics that i just couldn't get rid of , this week i bought a used gaui mini vbar because i tried one in my logo 550sx and really liked it, have to say that all my little niggles with the other fbl are non existent with the vbar therefore i believe that using a vbar is cheating somehow as it makes me fly a whole lot better with no extra practice , in fact i have to unlearn some of the corrections that i had to make with the other fbl units so, there you have it i just became a mikado fanboy

Glad to hear you like it Anthony.

Funny how much time you can spend trying to save money. For me my time is worth something, and if it fails and causes a crash its even worse.

when they work right, theres a lot of good fbl's out there. v-bar is one,
spartan vortex, my fave, Brain/ikon etc. tuning is just another part of this hobby, but every component has to work correctly, together..
glad it is working for you now.

If you dont like tuning, get Spirit, it tunes itself in flight where the only thing the user have to deal with is overal gain, rollrate / pirorate and agility.
The rest it handles itself.
No PID tuning there.
So if V-Bar is cheating then Spirit would be cheating even more.

its not that i don't like tuning, if i could understand it i think i would ,but i just don't know how to fix the issues that i was having, with vbar i'm not having those issues (atm) might find others later but for now it suits me

Similar experience here. Had so many BeastX units i could program one with my eyes closed, but try as I might, I could never get one to fly as good as I can a vbar after the first 2 flights. Not sure why. Maybe if I understood stuff better, I could have gotten it there, but screw it. I don't regret the switch one bit.

I never did figure out the Brain 2 I got. It's collecting dust halfway set up on my 180.

And with Vcontrol it's cheating even more, because you can have it pretty wel tuned in on your first flight if you know what to adjust. I'm still learning all that, but I can easily have a good flying heli by the end of the first flight. Even better once my vbar guru flying buddy makes some tweaks. I always offer to let him fly my heli cus somehow it always flies better when I get it back. Lol!

VBar is awesome. Switched all my models to VBar with VControl. I just use the VControl settings and it flies great.
