Default 3300mah batteries?

Just wondering what batteries people are using ? I have always used 4400mah 6s pack x 2. I also have a 13 tooth pinion on my Ballistic 635. I am going to change it to the 12 tooth and try it. I was thinking of trying 3300mah 6s batteries instead to reduce the weight and run a little lower head speed. Like 1700 rpm ? We will see how it works out.

I put the 3300mah batteries in the 635 and weighed it. It weighs 10.38 lbs. we will see how it flies this weekend.

I do not have the 640mm blades yet but I am hopping with the lighter batteries and the bigger disk area I can fly at a lower head speed. I will let you know.

I flew the Ballistic 635 this weekend with 2 - 3300 mah 6S packs , the Rotortech 640mm blades at 1700 rpm. It flew beautifully !!!! I think it was about 7.5 minutes.

Then later in the weekend the wind got quite high so I was flying at 2150 rpm. It handles the wind very well using this rpm.

All in all a very good Heli for high wind if needed. It is heavy enough to handle it. And if it is not windy lower rpm.

I like low headspeed flying and longer flight times.. there is a rough estimate if you half your headspeed you 4x flight time. So if you fly 5 minutes at 2500, you could fly near 20min at 1250. I have done it with one of my 600 helis, but not with my Rave yet..Its still on my building table..
