Default EX-LED shows red color only

Hi,

my EX-LED does show red color only and are off on green and blue. If I disconect the LED wires it become green. :-)

I tried the LED port on my SK720 with the old two colored leds and they are showing the right color. So it seems to be the EX led somehow.
Does anybody perhaps know a reason for this (it is connected correctly but perhaps the leads are damaged...) or how I can check the EX-LED? -> Conect it to 4,8V powersource and than connect 4,8 plus with the LED wire?

Cheers,
Nils

Damn, now the EX-Led is not showing blue Color. Tried another and this was fine. So the EX-Led seems to be damaged. So let's come back with testing the led. Any ideas?

I had the same thing suddenly happen to one of mine for no reason. After a few years use it just spontaneously didn't light up correctly any longer when I went out to fly one day, so I did the same as you checking everything over and over thinking something must have changed, or that I had done something.

Tried one from my spare unit and all was fine with the exact same setup. They do tend to get pretty hot on the back side of the board (there were a few threads on this in the early days) so I wonder if they just burn out after some time.

Yes, could be something like this. If I touch the large IC everything was fine. First soldered it again but without success.

Actually I can change the Color of the Led touching the wires. :-) Cool feature.
