Default Help me decide on a controller

Long time heli pilot looking to build a 5" quadcopter. I already have a carbon frame and I'm looking for a controller. So I have quite a few hours into reading on these(which they seem fairly impressive) and soon as I decide on one I find reason to change my mind. Right now I'm just looking to build it to fly around without cams, maybe I'll add cams later..

So the primary stipulation is 30mm mount holes as that is what my quad has. I'd like something "hot" but also "easy" to setup(I like pins but I can solder), and cleanflight looks nice.. Less than $50.

I've considered Multiwii, cc3d, naze32..
At this moment I'm looking at an SP Racing F3 controller, I like that it has spektrum sat plugs and I can plug a micro USB cable directly into it. Curious what other people think, and why wouldn't I want to get something like the Lumenier SKITZO(marketing sure makes it sound awesome)?

Also, can any of these controllers be set to fly in a 3D mode, would I want to fly one of these 3D?

Any and I mean ANY help appreciated.

The SP F3 and 4 is a nice combo with the OSD/PDB combo.
The stack is pinned together with M-FM socket pins that also supplies voltage to the controller from the OSD/PDB. The F3 can accept PWM receiver inputs while the F4 that had a faster processor uses only single line option. I use the F4 and SPM4649T Spektrum RC DSMX Quad RaceSerial Receiver Tel.
Here's a vid that shows how the stack is held together, different combo though but the same stack.

if your not using a camera or vtx and want to keep it on the cheap . Then I use (cc3d revo) board itís $20 itís a f4 board with the invensense MPU-6000 gyro. You can run raceflight or beta flight on it and it does it good. ReadyToFlyQuads is where I get my electronics from. they have the other boards mentioned above as well. And quite a few esc too.
