What a terrific way to end the year, Winter in Orlando at OHB! Should be a great event. Hope to see a lot of HeliFreak's there.

Are their going to be any vendors this year? Last year experience rc didn't bring their truck. Also has their been any mention of sponsorship or attendance? Just seems like this year there isn't has much hype or publicity.. or is it just me?

They usually have charging stations set up by the main canopy but in any case I'll be at the far left in between the last two flight stations, come on over

When you say speed cup on Thrusday? Does that mean you're shutting down the flight line? Please don't

Can someone share some event details? For example will we be able to park directly behind our canopies at the flight line or will we have to park 50' back? The first few blowouts I attended we could park right behind and it was nice, now there's a large gap between canopies and parking.

Will we be able to setup our canopy Thursday evening after 6?

How will there be food vendors onsite this year?
What are some of the raffle items,?

Maybe this year you can use your space more effectively and have an L shape flight line. Do the speed cup on one side of the L, say the left side, and keep the normal flight line. Or, if you need the normal flight light for the speed cup (though maybe not as smart as they have houses now on the right side), then open up a couple of flight stations on the left in the back corner so some people can fly instead of being grounded all day on Thursday.

Anyway I don't see the issue in having flight stations facing the lake, you can always keep a buffer between the left line and the normal line where they meet so there won't be any midairs in that intersection, as there is plenty of room to the left all the way back to the main road, I'm sure something works if you think smart about it. In looking at the google maps, you can probably have 3 flight stations on the left side with no issues, take a look at the map and see for yourself.

Thanks for considering and see you guys soon!

The entire field will be closed to other flying during the speed contest on Thursday for safety reasons

The speed course will parallel the main flight line and will run the length of the field

Before and after the speed event the field will be open for flying as normal

The speed event will be operated by the Model Heli Speed Flying Association

Default How many hours is the speed contest

What is the time from what hour to what hour on Thursday the place is closed?

Is there practice? Is it closed for practice on Wednesday or earlier in the day on Thursday?

won't know the answers to any of those questions until we know how many contestants there are

I do know that MHSFA is very efficient at running these and the actual racing event goes pretty fast (no pun intended)

Man if i could ask, please don't host that on Thrusady. Saturday there is already enough stuff going on that you shut down the flight line. Hosting an event where over 3 days youll shut down the flight line for 50% of it really stinks for the people going down to fly.

Default speed cup

Bgymr, I think the line is only shut down for speed on Thursday for a few hours, in the past years Friday, Saturday and Sunday the lines were open all day with a few exceptions like when someone wanted to do a speed run, but that's usually only a few minutes. I think most of the flight lines are shut down for the noon sponsor demo's on Saturday, but the two opposing end stations are left open.. maybe someone in the know can correct me.
