Default Brain2 feature request

Would it be possible on a future update to incorporate pitch setting with headspeed? Like in the your 3 banks for headspeed, have an option to adjust pitch.

you already have that now. So does every computer radio ever built. You have a separate pitch curve for each flight mode and rpm in your transmitter, unless I'm completely misunderstanding what you're asking for.

I think i see what you're saying, but in the setup, we set our pitch range for 100% for the brain ( panel 5), and adjust pitch range in panel 7, I guess, you could setup that in your transmitter, with your low headspeed being 100%, then your higher headspeed being less, I just think it would be cleaner in the software, say in panel 12, next to headspeed, have a "value" where in your setup, it equates to degrees, since every heli would be different mechanically.

What you are describing is exactly what the pitch curve for each flight mode in a TX is for. If you want less pitch you simply reduce the top pitch curve point down from 100% to a lesser value for that specific flight mode and RPM.

I guess you could technically do it in the FBL unit, but why would you want to take the time to connect up to software in the field just to do what can be done in 15 seconds the TX while not even touching the model? You can take off and land while adjusting in between until you get the feel you want.

It would take far longer to use a laptop, phone app or scrolling through TX integration menus than it does to use the TX pitch curves for what they are intended for.

xrayted,
I'll give it a try, I guess I always looked at it as setting the transmitter to provide 100% to the flybarless unit and adjust everything in the software. But it makes sense to set it up like you're saying.

You set up travel in the radio so pitch range gives 100% in software, then pitch curves use however much of that range you want. Even if you did have optional pitch amounts tied to head speeds in the software, it still wouldn't be able to tell you how many degrees of pitch it is. Even if you told it what your max pitch in degrees was, it still wouldn't be able tell you what reduced amounts are. It doesn't scale linear and there's no constant exponential between helis either. Depends on servo arm length, grip arm length, inner swash ring, outer swash ring.

The cyclic control algorithm treats collective pitch as an offset. Other than that, collective pitch doesn't even enter into the equation.
