Default Servos and esc?

I just purchased a newly built but never flown atom 500. The only electronics that were included was the stock compass motor. Can anyone recommend what moderately priced cyclic and rudder servos i should purchase? Also what amperage/type of esc would anyone recommend. Keeping in mind i dont/cant fly 3d just basic forward flight banked turns etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For the ESC I highly recommend the Hobbywing HW100A V3. I have it on my 550U and I also just got another one last Black Friday for the Atom 5.5 I am about to rebuild. It had a Castle 75A before but the wires got damaged in the last crash.

For cyclic servos, I am using Savox 1250MGs on one of my Atoms... They are relatively cheap but work well and are reliable. I also have Savox 1290MG on this Atom. You could also look into KST servos if you want to save money.

I use HW 80A V4 in my Atom 500 along with Futaba 9650 servo (plastic gear) and Scorpion motor.

I will change out Futaba servo due to it's plastic gears stripping so easy in every crash (major or minor). I had replaced servo gears in last 2 dumb thumb crashes . KST medium size servo is not cheap either when comparing with Savox, MKS, Futaba, BK, RJX, Xpert etc Only the micro size KST servos are cheaper than MKS, Futaba, etc.

BTW, did you buy your Atom 500 from tc_racer ?

+1 for either HW, the 80A v4 or the 100A v3.

For cyclics, KST and Savox are less expensive than a lot of other brands. I'm using the KST DS589 for cyclics. You can compare those against the MKS HV9767 - or pretty much anything else. For tail, KST's DS525, which is a full size, compares well to other options.
