Thanks Tony.

I tested the R2 Buffer Pack yesterday. I am running the internal BEC on the Tribunus at 6.1 volts. I unplugged the main batteries and stirred the sticks. It took about 35 seconds to deplete the capacitors. Should be lots of time to auto. I set my VControl to warn me with a vibration and voice when the BEC gets to 5.8 volts. Works great.

I set the protection limits. Max amps to 50 amps. It will allow 112 amps max. I couldn't find the amperage rating on the Hacker A50 14L motor but I don't think I would ever pull more than that. The only rating on the motor I could find is a max of 4500 watts.

Edit: It calculates 89.2 amps so it should be fine.

I set 14 degrees of pitch and 8 degrees cyclic. See how it goes. Maybe on low head speed 1200 rpm or so it should be higher?

Looks like it is ready for the maiden. Just the weather isnít yet. But It is finished where it will fly. Weighed it and the Helicopter less batteries is 7.34 pounds. A very light 700 !! With my Gens Ace 2 - 4000 mah 6S 60C packs it weighs 10.14 pounds. It will be 9.56 pounds with my Gens Ace 2 - 3300 mah 6S 60 C packs. Should fly very light !!! The build went very well. Quality of the E5 is great.

Thank you Gary. He is the inspiration to build this Heli.

Thank you everyone for the great ideas and the help !!! Helifreak is awesome !!!

I will post some pictures when I can take some in daylight.

That should be an excellent weight for that size. 12s purple power.
Should be able to fly for a long time at 1600. 10-12 Minutes.

Looks great with that canopy and that battery tray. Well done.

Hope it warms up for you to fly It soon.

Thanks Steve.

I plan on trying three banks, 1250 rpm, 1400 rpm, and 1600 rpm. See how it fly's. Really happy with the way it turned out. I have some VTX blades as well.

The VTX fly awesome, but I much prefer the rails overall as they auto amazing. I've found as they slow down I can still get lift when you think no way. They allow a ton of hang time for a nice soft set down, for me the vtx drop off rotor speed much faster than rails. I think it really shows how well the rails perform at the slow speeds and higher pitch angles. I'm mostly flying 1600, but having both blades will be fun switching back and forth to see what works best for your feel and style.

About 14 - 14.5 much higher I get cyclic binding at the ends. I know your not supposed to do cyclic and pitch at the same time, so if your good with that then you can run higher.

That blade and 14 climbs really good at 1600 and lower as well.
It just sips the amps. Roughly 16 to hover and 50-60 tops flying for me.

Finally flying on Saturday. I set the pitch at 16 degrees, cyclic at 8 degrees, 1260 rpm, and it flies great. 2 - 3300 mah 6S batteries. I was getting 9:30 minutes. Really impressed !!!

Synergy Helis are awesome, you build them and no weird tendencies, no tail issues, no aftermarket upgrades needed, just flies perfect. Quality!!!!

I have been asked a few times for a parts list to build the E5SS. From other posts from Gary Wright and Codepox.

Quote:

999-308 Synergy E5 FBL/TT Kit
310-121 Helical Main Gear 121T
320-154 54T Spur Gear
320-111H 11T Spur Gear - Hard Coat
310-145 Blade Bolt Adapter 5mm
315-140 Tail Boom 812mm E7
320-500 Torque Tube E7
315-117 Carbon Boom Support Rod 580mm
315-111 Carbon Tail Control Rod 728mm E7
305-012H E5/E7SE 12T Pinion Hard Coat

Quote:

For the Carbon Tail Control Rod, the E7 one (315-111) at 728mm is on the short side to get a good engagement of the plastic links, this is because of the tail servo placement between the E7 and E5, I recommend using the 766 one and cut it down to 737mm.
706-306 Carbon Tail Control Rod (Comes at 770mm and cut it down to 737mm)

If you use 106mm or bigger Tail Blade, I recommend using the N7 Vertical Tail Fin which is 11mm longer for more ground clearance.
317-302 N7 Vertical Tail Fin

If you are using 696/716mm main blade, you are also going to need the 5mm Blade Bolt Adapter as well as M5x35mm screws and M5 Nylon nuts.
310-145 Blade Bolt Adapter 5mm
Hicksy, mverhorst, Grimmy and 1 others like this.
