Here's mine. 2 or 3 years old, with hundreds of flights on it. It's not the night version, but I just like that canopy. MH CF tail boom, wrapped in Ultracote. Metal canopy posts. Orange factory blades.

I have Stability separated out on my Tx, so I fly it in IU1 with Stability engaged. I don't see myself flying inverted or 3D with it, and I just have fun flying through the trees and power lines in my yard.

You will be out there flying inverted punch outs before you know it.

Mine is still all stock and itís been great. I use this bird to try new things. Itís been planted a few time but still kicking. Oh, the night right has been a trip I would recommend it to anyone thatís never flown at night before.

I have three flyable, one is my training heli the canopy is mostly duct tape now (which does help with balance). Just started hovering inverted, crash repair, repeat....Great cheap heli to learn on. Guys at the field laugh at me until it takes me $5 and 5 minutes to repair and I'm flying again.

I was flying my beloved 230 last year during the forest fires that were around the Bitterroot valley and lost sight of the heli directly above my head and could not find the heli to bring it back.

The heli is somewhere west of Stevensville MT if anybody wants to look for it.

I tried to see the heli for about 15 second before I hit TH.

I have no idea where the heli fell out of the air.

Count me in - I recently bought a new Blade 230S V2.

Am liking it very much but have broken three blade grips (the metal ball link thingy breaks off).

Use a little jb weld on the threads of the ball links when you put them in and they wont pull out anymore.

I've had this happen a few times and I usually get the blade grip crack a little across the thread. A good upgrade is the RKH metal blade grip. It is designed so that there is less leverage on the ball joint to blade grip fixing.

buuuuump... let it flop till it finds center. my slop in the main gear is probably because i've had so many main blade strikes and stretched out the hole.. I''m flying "franken heli" (sp) now so nothing matters anyway.

I bought the Rakon aluminium upgrade kit (gold anodized) but their Blade grips have a different design that evidently does not include thrust bearings. Before I figured this out, I ruined one of the bearings trying to push it in deeper to make room for the thrust bearings. Disappointed with that purchase - decided to go with a bag of plastic grips and deal with their replacement as needed.

I had the V1 and had sold it and then regretted it... I bought the V2 when it was first released. The 230 is Blades best trainer to date.

Sold my V1 and got a 250cfx, the 250 flew a lot heavier and a little underpowered, I miss my 230, now that HH has them in stock again I think I wil get one ..

That's what I did, I bought the 250 and found I liked the 230 better. The 250 found a new home.

With all of the spare parts and equipment I have for the 230S I will purchase a new one as soon as possible.

Those darn pesky bills keep getting in the way.

I was temped to go for the 250 but from what I read here I am glad I stayed with the 230.

If you have a load of spares it might be cheaper to buy the rest of the stuff and make one out of the spares. I've done that and now have two operational helis. Spares are not that common here in the UK and they are quite pricey so I tend to put an order together and get spares direct from the USA.

I'm sure others have done this as well, but can you tell me how you separated Stability on your Tx to allow you to fly in IU1 with it? I have the Dx7 G2. Thanks

I wish I could remember what I did, and wish I had saved a bookmark from where I got the info, but I can't and didn't. Sorry. I know I didn't figure it out on my own. I looked for some saved reference earlier when the same question came up here, but I wasn't able to find anything.

Hopefully someone else can point you in the right direction.

I do know that it was very, very much worth the effort. I love flying it this way, and despise how difficult it is to fly without Stability engaged. As was said, flying a heli without Stability is like trying to keep a marble on a flat glass plate. I have always likened it to trying to juggle while standing on a bowling ball.

Maybe one day I will eventually learn to fly without Stability, but that is a ton of baby steps for me to get there.
