Ya... but still.
Not interested in buying a machine they dump in under a year, again...

I also owe the start of my heli addiction to Blade, so im hopeful for the new helis that Horizon is releasing, in the hopes that it breathes new life into keeping RC helis a thriving business.

Its important to remember that when it comes to local hobby shops, many of them only carry cars, planes, and helis that they can get parts support for through the top distributors they already do business with. Its much easier for a LHS to sell Blade helis, than to have to open a line with a new distributor for a single brand like Lynx, SAB, MSH, etc.

I can remember getting my start in blade helis at my LHS, and while I started with a 120SR and then a 200SRX, I always aspired to pick up a 700X. These new helis from Blade should serve as great aspirational goals for people learning the ropes on fixed pitch and other offerings from blade.

My one and only complaint on these new fusion helis: the landing skids look like they're on backwards. I know they're not - but they look like they are.

Maybe Horizon's licensing deal with BeastX has just expired ? Only an idea, no facts.

Something similar happened with Spektrum and JR.

I love my BeastX and AR7200BX, but seem to have ended up several other types too, all good.

The AR7210BX is still a current product if I'm not mistaken? Most likely the test pilot, whoever he is, just likes the Vbar. If horizon were going to get in bed with Mikado they would at least use their current product (the Neo)

Somewhere in a thread that seems to have disappeared, I think it was Brian Bremer who came on and commented about the Fusion 270 ARF having been tried with a bunch of different FBL’s. My guess is, if this heli is real, they may have also been in the process of trying diffferent FBL’s.

The heli looks good to me. My only hope, and not for my sake but for their's, is they keep it around and not scrap production because someone believes sales aren't at some stupid level. They ruin their credibility and people that know of their history that would like the looks of this are hesitant because of their mode of discontinuing things or re-releasing at tri-head only and not improving on anything, although they did add metal geared servos for the 180cfx trio. I would definitely consider one of these if it were a low-cost 500 sized build, but it would have to compete with Align or the XL.

Curious if they intend to release in similar fashion as the 270F, a BNF and ARF. TBH, a BNF 500 sized heli sounds scary to me.

I take your point but it could be just what some people are looking for. Although you and I probably thing of it as part of the fun of the hobby; building and setting up modern helis seems to be too daunting for quite a lot of people. Having a 'bind and fly' option up through the size ranges could well encourage people into the hobby. It's nothing new, Thunder Tiger used to have a large range of 'almost ready to fly' large nitro helis. In fact TT still offer a 550e that's almost ready to fly.

They haven't used those in a while. All of their recent non ultra-micro helis have been released with their home grown AR636 RX/FBL unit. And, it's nice to see an all new heli instead of an old one that's barely warmed over and re-released.

Thats my biggest question, all of my helicopters right now are blade helicopters. and so far i love them, i was looking at building a trex 470L. i may go for this blade instead, but i would want a kit available. i would rather source my own electronics and i want to build it. so if they have a kit available tats in the ballpark of the 470L kit. il be sold.

I was just thinking from the point of view that BNFs literally are bind and fly and easy. It just doesn't mix well without some real flight experience in this size heli. Getting hit with one of these could be seriously bad for your health. It is what it is I guess. I could see someone getting their feet wet with a 200s and hopping to this right away without some advice and getting hurt. That is a risk for any of the larger helis I guess, BNF or not.

I'm hoping like the 270 it comes in both BNF and ARF versions.
