Default New Fireball Tail Wag and how I fixed it

Hey guys just got my fireball combo up and flying. Using the SAB servos and a Spartan vortex Pico. I was having a lot of trouble with tail gain and fast wagging. My tail shaft pitch slider is buttery smooth so after going crazy all day I went into advanced tuning and went into PID tuning for the tail. The D gain was at zero so I adjusted this value to 20. All of my tail oscillations and fast wagging were gone! Just seeing if anyone else had this problem?

That does seem to be helping in my neo as well. Beastx v5 and ikon2 were no wag for me.

I had 2 fireballs both combo kits. both silky smooth and built perfect, and both had the same tail wag. both helis using v bar neo and one using mini v bar.

so the fireball with the mini v bar in it i tried all the setting i could and it did nothing the only thing that cured the tail wag was getting rid of the SAB tail servo and fitting an align one instead and its perfect now

the other fireball i stripped and sold the airframe and put all the gear minis the motor in to a Lynx oxy 3 and it worked.

I also heard that getting rid of the SAB Servo solved the problem. So far so good. Still need to take it out and really beat on it to see how it is.

I have some bad fast tail wagging on my mini comet. In forward flight it is barely noticeable, but if I increase pitch rapidly, it shakes so much you can hear it. No matter how I adjust the gyro gain (which is at 39 on an ikon), I can't get rid of it. Mechanics are super smooth and I have a completely upgraded tail with metal parts.

I have a SAB tail servo, and am thinking of moving out a hole on the ball to get more resolution. I will also try adjusting the PID to see if that helps.

Any other tips for me would be useful.

I'm running a AR7210 with V5 PRO and had some fast tail wag on my maiden flight.

What settings were you running?

I have same setup. Where did you end up with your tail gain and what headspeeds you running?

I'm running 3800 as my high headspeed and find that plenty fast enough for me.
I have also fitted the speed up pully.

I have my tail gain down to 15, and added precomp until any drift in full pitch punch outs was gone.

If I have gain any higher I get a lot of wag in a hover.
I have only had 2 flights since change the tail pulley, and hope to get more fights at the weekend

Just an update… I am using a mini brain 2. I moved my ball out on the tail servo to 10 mm, reduced my pitch precompensation to nearly zero in the advance settings. That fixed the issues with pitch pumps. I still have very fast wagging in hover. I guess next step is to lower i gain? Any suggestions on what to try?
