Default Tail Bounce

How do I get rid of the tail bounce after doing pirouette? I tried tweaking the PID without any success. It flies great if I can get rid of it. Stock setup.

Eznov neuron tail bounce (0 min 24 sec)

Try lowering I Gain until the Tail gets weak. That helps.
Maybe you can not fix it perfectly but it will help.

I got the same thing. Lowering I gain helped to a point, but it is still there.

I really like the way these units fly, the rescue has worked well, and set up was pretty easy too.

I've resigned myself living with this tail bounce.

Did you try increasing your D-gain? You may be able to get it a little bit better... However, I have never been able to totally eliminate the bounce on my units. I assumed it was my lack of ability to properly tune an FBL.

Did you verify it's not a mechanical issue?
Trying with a different FBL can be insightful.
if it's still there with let's say an MSH brain then it is likely to be mechanical.

Hello, hopefully i can jump in here with my issue....

i have a question regarding the tail settings of the neuron. i have the neuron in my oxy3 coming directly from a brain. with the brain i had no serious issues (stable tail) but i switched to the neuron because of my curiosity

Now i am facing terrible tail wag issues when operating in heading hold mode. when i lower tail gain to zero (normal mode) the tail is not stable (i need stick input) but i have no tail wag. tail wag with heading hold is that terrible - i can hardly land the heli without crashing. tail gain is in the meantime on a knob on my transmitter to make some tests - but without success so far.
tail pushrod is very smooth. servo is fast enough as well tgy s306 HV.

any ideas folks? thanks in advance.
my next step is otherwise switching back to brain.

thanks roland

If I recall, I really had to lower my I-Gain on my smaller helis significantly. Just going from memory, but I think it was in the mid-20s.

boy oh boy oh boy what I wish I would have seen this post before I went crazy I thought the presets for the parameters was perfect I go looking for mechanical Parts on my hilly not realizing that I forgot that you get super wag when integral gain is to high. Mine is 19% with 22 on the stops. What did you end up with???

Sorry, I don't check this sub-forum very often... My X3 ended around 25%. I flies pretty well there. I also run mine at a little lower headspeed. Probably around 2800, so I have a little lower mechanical gain due to the low headspeed.

Cool Parcial Fix

I have two neurons, and the bounce is gone, but I had to accept weaker tail in hard pitch pumps, but very aceptable, 5 tail degress in hard pitch pumps.

Is more than a year testing and this settings looks too extreme but they work on my setups:

Oxy3: I Gain is 5,P at 44 and D at 14.
Oxy 2: I Gain is 6,P at 35 and D at 6.

The only way I found to eliminate the bounce was to Raise P high as I can, "I" gain to very low values because is the value that most affects to the bounce, and D very low to get crisp stops and avoid fast tail oscilation.

PD:Excuse me for my english
