Default Tape on tail control rod/guide

Bit of clarification here, Mikado mention putting "strip of scotch tape" on tail control rod to prevent wear, but arrow is pointing to the push rod guide/boom in photo. Are they truly wanting it on the rod itself, or under the guide on the boom?

Thanks!

I don't use it but I don't log lots of flights. My guess is it points to the guide so you know the tape needs to be positioned so it's in the guide on the rod.

If the guide moves on the boom then put tape on the boom.

Put tape on the control rod where it travels in the guide.

Before you install the threaded rod end on the control rod you could use some 5mm thin walled ptfe heat shrink. After the rod ends go you will need larger heat shrink that doesn't work as well.

i don't have any on my 480 rudder pushrod and i am noticing black powder on the rod , so my guess is to stop it wearing , andy from sandy has the right idea and the next one i get will get this treatment , and as an aside my synergy 516 has it on the pushrod for the exact same reason
