Protos 380 tail rod thread diameter, wrong spare part
Hello,
I have to replace my tail rod and ordered the appropriate spare part. My problem is that the original thread diameter is 2.0mm for the ball links (its the same diamater all around the heli). The spare part diamater is 2.4mm. By hand its impossible to get them threaded, so i used my hand drill and got one mounted, the problem is that there is to much material lost and the ball link is not tight enough. Additional problem is that if i have to adjust the length it wont screw in any further by itself. Is there a trick to use them or should i try to get a new one and hope for the correct diameter? I received new parts from my retailer. MSH has reinforced the thread and the ball links. My ordered parts were just mixed up.

Also note some required a few mm to be trimmed for some servos to get the proper length. I think there is a mention in the manual.

It is correct the manual states that for a micro servo 5mm should be cut. On my first tail rod i cut 10mm to have some more room to adjust. With this new links i may have to cut even more, because they wont screw in as much as the old ones. |
