Hopefully it's a full belted tail.

Not really. Kinda surprised it took this long. Mikado started out by making upgrade parts for nitro's...or something like that.

That was over 20yrs ago. Dave posted a timeline of models and mentioned how they got started in the hobby. I would like to see also out of curiosity.

I clearly see a tail drive cog and belt just above the main gear.

So is this just a prototype frame before it goes plastic or will it be carbon sandwich frame?

Plastic and fuel don't go together at all. It'll stay CF.

It looks like 690SX with carbon nitro frames (yeah, same cross-member design as Synergy) and a tighter canopy - not surprised they went this way. Which means that there should be a new carbon 690 frame available soon just like the 600SX frame.

I've seen a lot of Mikados fly and 690SX flies like nothing else - super smooth and super efficient and can even handle basic smack, although the manual warns not to exceed 2000rpm and 11degrees of pitch. I cranked mine up to 2150rpm and it smacks OK, although at 1850 it's ballistic enough due to low weight and crazy efficiency under load. It's basically a 600 stretched, which has been around for like 10 years now with different versions - basic, SE, SX, now V2, so it's definitely a tried and tested design.
