Just in case someone has not watched Kyle's video, Glogo is a personal project by Kyle Dahal, not a Mikado initiative. Mikado has included the model in their production line, though. Congratulations, Kyle.

One question: has Mikado given up selling new kits with metal blade grips? Could not find any of those kits on MikadoUsa.

Anyone have any insight on how Kyle Dahl keeps losing the tail in videos? I know heís hitting it on the ground, but in my experience with belt tails that may chew up the blades but it doesnít lose tail drive.

When you have no more tail blades or tail pitch slider arms, an intact belt won't help too much lol

Thanks but that has nothing to do with the question. Watch the videos, he still has blades and partial tail control, itís only when he digs into the pitch that it starts spinning.

Are you talking about this night flight at IRCHA 2018? Don’t know if the link will work, only place I could find it was on Facecrack.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?sto...le.com%2F&_rdr

He said tail was destroyed, bent boom loosened the belt, broke tail control rod, and broke tail blades.

Thanks Madrotorz, yes that one and he did it again in FL a couple weeks ago.

Bent boom loosening the belt makes sense. Thatís why heíd still have partial control when it wasnít loaded.

I haven't see one in person, or talked to Kyle, but are there any GLOGO specific parts in this kit, or is it a Mikado parts-bin airframe (no disrespect meant) mixed with some Synergy N7 parts?

Here's how it appears to me:

The frame, bearing blocks, tail boom clamps, and engine mount are new.

The tail boom, boom supports, tail, tail drive gear, tail control rod, belt, head, swash, collar, anti-rotation bracket, main shaft, main gear, pinion, canopy, and skids are from the 690.

The fuel tank, fan, and shroud are Synergy.

I wonder how expensive parts will be. Just waiting to see spare parts price before I order myself a Glogo.

Due to the vibration, and extreme heat caused by nitro engines, we felt that moulded frames would not be a viable option.
Hirobo with the Sceadu and SDX and Thunder Tiger with the Raptor must of used a different plastic then.

Kyle designed it as carbon from the start, so he could prototype it for a reasonable cost by himself. He told us the helicopter was basically finished before Mikado even laid eyes on it. Switching to plastic at that point would most likely be prohibitively expensive, as everything would need re-testing.

But yeah, in the past there were loads of plastic framed nitro helis.

The much quicker design using slab sided frames makes total sense as you point out in cost. It just seems lame to disguise the reason for doing it, or even mention it at all.

I have nothing against carbon frames at all, but after building a Goblin 700 Thunder Sport with G10 side frames, I'm starting to wonder why we need carbon frames? Anything that reduced costs of the kits is fine with me as long as it doesn't compromise strength.

Perhaps Mikado will consider using G10? The cost savings to the end user seems significant.

In with you. I like cheaper crash and initial purchase cost. We don't need carbon fiber. It's benefit is grossly exaggerated.

But already some people are flaming sab for "cheapening" their models with the sport lines ane g10. They mention they want to buy high end only. Ridiculous.

I'm not paying 50 bucks a side plate when you can pay 14 for an indistinguishable part, performance wise.

I feel the same way about all the non needed aluminum bling. That's why I own a so many logos these days.
