Default Voices

Beauty of source control...

Inspecting changes from 3.01 to 4.28, realized that Jeti had almost totally replaced voices. Don't know if they had a human voice before, but now the voices are definitely synthetized, with artifacts in them (in particular, Alarm.wav in English). Most of those I listened to now are longer than before, which is to the contrary of what I'd like - I'd rather listen to curt messages than to nice sounding ones that last longer than it takes the event they're warning about to cause a crash.

I'd probably end up reverting at least some of them, did anyone else end up with alternative voice schemes too?

I know we've discussed this before at least once, wonder how the tooling changed since - anything interesting showed up?

Teros at RC-Thoughts runs a text to voice facility ( https://www.rc-thoughts.com/tts/ ) which allows you to create your own voice messages and adjust the speed of them in most languages.

I have replaced many of the stock Jeti messages this way to make them more meaningful to me and to keep them short and sharp.

If you haven't found it already, RC-Thoughts is a brilliant resource for Jeti users.
madeye likes this.

I did, even before I stopped flying back then.

Thank you for the reminder, I've got a lot of things to remember and catch up with.
