Default Anybody still flying the 270cfx

I am still regularly flying my 270cfx, with HH releasing the fusion 270. The parts are the same. I am confident that i will have spares to buy. I like the 6S head speed.
Still happy with it?

Still flying mine. Have three of them, one still new in box. Other than the crappy stock motor and H3050 cyclics, one of Blade's greatest, second only to the 360 CFX. Have over 700 flights on 270 #1 and somewhere around 200 on 270 #2.

Running KST DS215MG cyclics and stock H3060 on tail.

The bearings on the stock motor can't hold up to hard 3D. I average 160-200 flights per motor. For comparison, I get between 400-500 flights per 360 CFX motor. Still, the 270 is a good enough trainer to warrant picking up motors for cheap. When the bearings start going, she flies worse.

@orbitalgolem, you can be right, Today, the motor just quit on me all of a sudden, i did a knife edge when i came back upright. The motor quit all of a sudden. It landed upright though, but the skid is gone. My last crash was also like this. I will buy a new motor, will the lynx EOX 2214 6S motor will probably fit?

I learned a lot on the 270cfx. Parts are cheap, it is not a pain to crash

Still fly mine and yes, for me I think it is the best little performance heli that Blade has made to date. For me I preferred the way it flew over the the two blade 6S 360. I sold the 360. I am just a sort flyer so I have never had to replace anything yet...no crashes yet either.
Having a 230s V2 and the 270cfx....its all perfect for me.

Lynx motor info and my experience. You'll need to elongate the motor mount holes in the frame.

Regarding your motor cut-out issues, I'm suspecting either the motor bullet plugs, battery connector, or connections to the ESC.

I also had the suspicion that it might be esc related

Default New 270 CFX, are you kidding me?

Guys, I bought a Fusion 270 in March and never got it off the ground. Tipped on every take off attempt, even for the local LHS owner who flies at air shows. Traded it in for the CFX, this is my 1st FBL heli. Took off smooth as silk and was like a lion on a leash. I will tone it down through the radio until I get a feel for it. So far I've not flown it with the canopy, as it seems a real tight fit on the bench, I have to seat the battery way back towards the motor to get it on. I'm a little concerned about affecting the COG and heat issues from the motor flying it this way. I prefer not to drill new holes in the canopy if I don't need to. What has been your guys experience with this, I realize I'm way late to the CFX party but so far what a rush! MacShadow.

Over 1000 hard 3D flights on my two 270 CFXs (with a third sitting in a box as a spare). One of Blade's greatest, alongside the 300 CFX and 360 CFX. No holes needed in the canopy. I enjoy flying it more than my Oxy 3.

The only weak point are the H3050 cyclics. They're okay for sport and mild 3D, but moderate-hard 3D will kill them within 120-150 flights. I replaced with the KST DS215MG and never looked back.

Look for my other posts in the forum for additional info.

Regarding the Fusion - the loss of the BeastX was a huge step backward.

I have not flown as much this summer and almost pulled the trigger on a bare Fusion air frame. Then sometime move the electronics over. But instead I bought a Fusion head block and grips just for a change. I don't think I want to screw around with a four post canopy.

I've been considering the Fusion grips after Haley's comment in the product video that the 270 CFX grips' geometry overworked the servos. How is your experience with the new grips? Was there a significant difference?

They are on the way...I don't have them yet. Should be in the mail on Friday will let you know and post some picks. I am just a sport flyer so I'm sure it won't be much of a difference for me.

Got a chance to do some flights this morning....and as always my 270cfx flies great. I am amazed on how locked in in it is and the tail authority. As for seeing any difference with my skill set.....I did not notice any difference in flight characteristics. It just flies great.
I kind of knew the grip change would not make some kind of magical transformation. I just did it to have the upgrade and to make a change.

With motor issues like described I would change to an EOX motor and maybe even go down to 4S. You will see no headspeed loss from going down.

For the 360cfx, the EOX 2222-1970 is a direct drop-in and a much more powerful upgrade. Loved how my 360 flew with it. Use the same motor in my Oxy 4-325.

Blade rep paid a visit to our local flying club. He setup my 270cfx, and did programing of the radio. I've own the 270cfx for more than 2 years. I was impress with how the 270 flew. This time it was awesome, it was predictable, it flew like a sim heli!
